So, it's the Melbourne Cup tomorrow. I used to drop a blue swimmer on the office sweep when I was working but I preferred the 10 minutes of free time blabbing with other workers over cheese and crackers, dips and cabanossi. I'm going to our relos place tomorrow for cold beers and prawns while watching the race. Any tips on the MC? I'm a pensioner now so all I can spare is a pink lady.

I used to do the Melbourne Cup thing as well.
That was 20 years ago.
It has lost its relevance and is not such a big event anymore. Outside of Victoria that is.
V'Landys has actually turned the NSW spring carnival into something bigger tbh.

Agree. Nobody cares much about it anymore. I don't see any sweeps at work etc.

I'm surprised greyhounds and trots are still around. Surely those industries die within 15yrs. Horse racing has to much money in it so that will survive.

Mike Baird tried to kill the greyhound racing but the backlash was too severe he had to backflip.

After that he was dead man walking as premier.
