I'm on the fence with the choice of my next mower. It won't be a Flymo.

A male crab and a female lobster are dating, but they are hiding it from their parents because of the obvious reason. Eventually the lobster gets tired of all the secrecy and she tells her father, who is furious and forbids her to see the crab again.
“But why can’t I see the crab again? We’re in love!” cries the lobster.
“Because,” says the father, trying to search for a reasonable answer, “crabs walk sideways and we walk straight!”
“Please, father,” she begs. “Just meet him once and I’m sure you will change your mind.”
The father finally agrees to meet the crab and she runs out to tell him the good news.
The crab is so excited that he practices walking straight.
He practices and practices until finally he can walk straight. He walks the entire way to the lobster’s house as straight as he can.
The father sees him coming and yells to his daughter, “Hey, here comes that crab and he’s pissed!”

Mowed the lawn today, trimmed the edges too. No, that's not a euphemism. I'm on my second lawn mower in 40 years, time to upgrade. To be honest I haven't really looked at the options too seriously.

Haven't mowed a lawn for about 10 years, we have hired help for that

I'll be having a very quiet one, having a few drinks watching the sunset on our farm, then having a few more drinks on the couch whilst chatting with my family. I'll pop back outside to glance at the fireworks our neighbour sets off every new years at midnight.

Will be hoping desperately for a much-improved Eels team for 2025. Let's Go Ryles!

We’re about to head to the BIL’s place for lunch. He’s making some form of British Indian dish which is as yet unknown to us. There will be some friends there who have just spent a year on the road doing a lap of OZ so I’m looking forward to the details. A couple of cold beers will be consumed but it will be an early night for this boomer. I’ll leave the NYE shenanigans to the gen zeds on here.
