That’s a good point. Siebold is another example of a coach who probably wishes he had stayed where he was, with a team who he had just gotten to one game away from a grand final appearance, with players that had bought into his coaching style.

They should both be cautionary tales to other young coach’s, that the wrong decision is a killer to a head coaching career.

But to worry us or say Melbourne or Souths in the premiership? I don’t see them as a threat at all in that regards, I’d have Titans and a full strength Newcastle as scarier propositions than the Sharks still and then the obviously 5 teams above them also.

Sharks are pretenders. The have a few players that are hot and cold that thrive on beating bums and go missing against the top sides.

Yeah I’d say the top 4 probably won’t be anyone outside of us, Souths, Melbourne, Parra and Canberra at this point. Roosters the other threat but Keary is too much of a loss for them to compete against the big teams now I think. They will still have no problem with the lower teams on the ladder but I’d throw them in the mix more competing for the bottom half of the 8 with Titans, Newcastle, Warriors and Sharks.

I will say that too but aside from Canberra those sides have ordinary depth. Like Parra only have one hooker in their whole squad. So an injury to a key player changes it

Jake Friend is expected to announce his retirement on Tuesday, and Boyd Cordner is still out, concussed. The lack of Roosters depth will be shown soon.

I have no doubt Cordner will probably be back later in the season and once they get Verrils back they will have a bit more quality in that 9 position, Keary being out is the main issue for them for sure.
