Non Penrith games

Mate be honest. That Tigers Roster is rubbish and a good chunk of it was inherited.

Every year my old school mates and I go to the central Coast for a weekend away and last year it was the final round. We watched pretty much all the games together.

When it came to the Tigers we analysed their team. Other than Nofa, there is not one player on their entire team that top teams from that year (Storm, Panthers, Roosters) would want in their starting side. There was not one player on that team that would even make the Panthers Bench.Their pack is absolute garbage.

I went to another mates place today to watch this game with him and made the same point. His response was: Tamou goes well. He made my point...he was ours last year.

This year the Tigers are barely any better aside from Daine Laurie and Tamou. In fact they lost their best player from last year in Harry Grant...and he wasn't even their's to begin with.
I hear you, but Roberts and the Dally M halfback of the year are no mugs, they just look it at the moment. The TIgers have managed to get Roberts to look slow. "Jimmy the jet" is now "Jimmy the tank engine".

At what point is Maguire, or any coach for that matter, responsible for the roster? One year, two years, three years? He is in his third year. I would bet my favourite bottle of red, that Bellamy would have these players performing at a higher level than they are now. They would be a lot fitter for a start. BJ looks like he has been on Cleary's Pie Face training regime.

Bellamy is a different beast. With our roster would get 3 premierships in 5 years. Only coach that is close to him is Robinson.

I hear your points but gosh Mag has a non-functional forward pack, a junior 'nursery' which obviously hasn't been 'watered' for ages, a known dysfunctional board/club that nobody other than the desperate want to go to and a salary cap in disarray with players like Mybe being paid like they are Stars but delivering bench player quality.

The Tigers are a tough ask and have basically been a basket case for 10 years. God help anyone trying to turn them around. What they really needed was a rebuild coach, like Brian Smith was in the past, and what Griffin seems to be now. Even Ivan was a bit of a rebuild coach though hopefully he is transitioning to a winning one.

I think Maguire is the type of coach that can get a decent/good team (6-7/10) and turn them into contenders (8-9/10).

But he can't seem to get teams from the gutter or ordinary (2-4/10) and get them to a decentish level.

Interesting comment from Cowboys coach Todd Payton who said the Raiders bullied his side in the first half, but they stood up to them in the second.

Raiders bullies? Never. Creepy Crawley won't hear a bar of that. It would have to be those wicked Panthers and thuggish Cowboys that bring the worst out of the Raiders. They must be to blame. :p

Haha didn't yesterday.

well a few games blew out but 2 points seperate 6th and 12th.

2 basket cases after round 4. NQ and Manly have won 3 in a row

We struggled v Broncs.
Souffs struggled v WT and GC
Parra lost to Dragons
Canberra are broken

So plenty of good happening across the comp but of course people will focus on the negative

Another Raiders loss. Another round of Ricky blaming the refs. Nice deflection.

He bungled his rotations too. Played Head slammer James for the1st 23 minutes and didn't bring him back on. Unless he was injured?
Soliola didn't come on until the 71st minute. No wonder they ran out of gas in the 2nd half.

Zac Cini the Tigers best in the first half. Nice break from his 20 and a try saving tackle on Billy Burns.

Made all the more impressive by the fact that BJ is playing next to him.
