What they are mentioning in the selection process in the press is ducks and drakes. IMO, either Freddy and Brandy and co will feel that To'o, Burton and Martin still need to play another year in top grade to play SOO, OR they take the Panthers side who are elegible, and build a team around that, like they used to do with the Easts and other teams who dominated on the day.

I’m worried they are going to pick Burton as 18th man

In previous years the 18th man could play NRL. If that is still the same then it is fine. I think him or Crichton get the 18th man. Given Luai or Wighton will be the 14. Prob not such a need to be able to play the halves.

Like if a winger goes down then having Burton or Luai as options means a reshuffle. Wheras Crichton can just slot in

Yeah if he can be 18th man and play that’s cool . Filter rates him highly(like everyone) I have a feeling he might just get in the system as 18th man this year to get a little taste of it.

Selfishly I’d rather Matt miss out this year, he will be a huge asset for Penrith through origin. I know the experience will be good for him but that wil mostly benefit the dogs.

There are few of our guys that likely play game 1 but don't after that. Angus Crichton, Haas, Papenhuyzen are available game too.

Heres the final ex Panther entry, Blorey:

Realistically, if we can keep you under +18 next week it will be a moral victory and classed as one of our games of the season.

All the ex Panther players are in the zone at the moment, good to see.

Laurie is playing well for you guys.

Hopefully Blore steps up. He was held in such high regard before he left.

Bunnys and Eels are dead even and dead dogshit. This year looks like a 2 horse race.

Gotta feel for Caleb Atkins tonight - he had a shocker. CHN had a decent game thought out of the 2 ex-panthers there.

Wighton is a myth this season which might just mean Luai gets selected for the Blues - which is something I definitely do not want.
