Yes thank you for your kind words. Even though I don't agree with many views from some members on here, from time to time I would like a post purely because of the thinking outside the box and a genuine effort to put forward a view that may solve a problem.
I doubt that not much of what we say on this forum would be noticed or taken up by those in power at SGI today however, we are a forum for people who support St George Illawarra and debate on here at most times in an enjoyable way.
My thinking is that it is absolutely necessary to get rid of Norman and Hunt who have proven to be playing way below their pay scale. It seems to me that both Norman and Bird have on year to go on their respective contracts and that both players are performing poorly for their current clubs.
Both players may improve their attitude and performance in an environment where there is a change of club with a fresh start. Both will be under no illusion that they will have to perform if they want to remain in demand for season 2022.
More importantly, the Broncos don't need a centre and we could do with a good left centre. Saints do not need a five-eighth if Griffin is our new coach mainly because we have juniors coming through and rumours that Maloney may come with Griffin. But beyond all of this, if Bird can play fit and injury free, he is a very versatile player who can play fullback, left-centre, five-eighth and lock.
The challenge will be, can our new coach get Bird him motivated and up to the job. In my view he would have a better chance to do this with Jack Bird than with Cory Norman.
