Why do we f**king care? They're football players. Them getting kicked out of a pub or getting pissed has nothing to do with them on the football field.

Get a life you sad f**ks.

Greg Bird is in the last year of his contract. I'm not sure though he is that wanted at the Gold Coast. I know Knights and Raiders are clubs that have been thrown up in the past that have shown interest.

I suppose Bird can tackle, and has a bit of versatility where he can play part-time at five-eight but that's about it. I'm not sure I would of rated him as one of the most exceptional players, and he has more then wore out his welcome playing for the Blues.

Details of a new incident emerging, Bird was at another pub, was asked to leave and "Failed to comply", a team mate escorted him out of the pub with no further incident!

Wow, throw the book at him eh, what a heinous crime against humanity. Geez, the indiscretion bar for the media to get interested is set at an all time low.

Getting kicked out of a bar got Pearce dumped from Origin, doing it twice should be a jail term by NRL standards

C'mon AK, it was a bit more gropey than that.

Yes the Bird thing is a storm in a teacup. Yes, he is a merkin who gets caught up in a lot of these things.

I don't know why any club would want to sign Bird, he's good for a few penalties and suspensions.

Surely clubs will go for youth and save the coin.

Well merkin is as merkin does, but this ain't a storm in a tea cup, this one's a hurricane in a thimble.

It's been reported the Titans have released Greg Bird from his contract after Bird asked for a release.

"Meanwhile, at the Titans, former Blues forward Bird has been granted a release, with his career again in the balance after he was allegedly involved in two separate incidents during the course of a drunken weekend last month. He has reportedly inked a five-year $2.7 million deal with French Super League outfit the Catalans Dragons.

Bird, who was just one transgression away from having his Gold Coast contract torn up, was allegedly involved in a fracas earlier at the buck's weekend celebrations of teammate Anthony Don. It was alleged Bird was refused entry to the Hotel Brunswick following an altercation with security staff. Police were looking into that matter and a further alleged incident at a hotel in Byron Bay that weekend.

It's understood several Titans directors were hoping to use the dramas as a means of forcing Bird out of the club. However, he spared them the trouble by asking for a release, which the club has agreed to."

They actually said in their Carney press release they wanted to focus recruitment on off fied behaviour as well as on field. Then they go out and sign Greg Bird lol.

The Titans just keep getting more and more likeable..

They are a very well managed club nowadays. Even when things haven't gone their way in the last couple of years, they've managed to adjust and end up coming out in front in the end.

This is just another example of good management. It was pretty obvious that Greg was on the down slide as a footballer. Not sure if most of his money has to now go to Hayne or whether they can use some of it to pick up another player from somewhere but either way it's a good result.

Agreed it's a good decision. Might be also done to help retain Ryan James, and possibly also to sign Kevin Proctor as well if he can get a release from Melbourne.

Neil Henry said earlier in the season that a clean out was going to happen, but I think the making the top eight and signing Hayne overshadowed that.

Luke Douglas, Josh Hoffman, David Mead and Greg Bird have all been sent packing. The Titans also wouldn't have a problem with William Zillman finding a new home either, but have said they will honor his contract.

I agree with the new stance.Send the grubs to the backyard garden.I have had a gutful of them appearing in the Telecrap and the Snoring Herald week after week.
Bird was repeat offender, blaming his mate when he played for the Sharks, did it for me.
