The November 1 deadline is regarding negotiation for players at the end of the FOLLOWING year, so any announcement after November 1 would be for 2018, and would be for a player only, so would not change our fortunes in 2017 and possibly wouldnt change anything for 2018 unless we can pull a new coach.

On top of that, announcing it the days after November 1 would mean that our board would have had to made an approach, negotiate and made an offer to this new player prior to that November 1 deadline. There's no way in hell our board has that sort of foresight.

And it would also mean John somehow knew about all this happening on Sunday! Back to the future? Unless of course there was some kind of breach of the rules which we all know that would not happen with the upstanding player managers looking after things
