Couldn't find a thread for this which surprised me considering how close the season is!

Here's your chance to lay it all on the line with the potential of being called a genius in 6 months time!

1 Sea Eagles
2 Panthers
3 Eels
4 Roosters
5 Storm
6 Dragons
7 Warriors
8 Knights
--
9 Sharks
10 Titans
11 Rabbitohs
12 Raiders
13 Cowboys
14 Tigers
15 Broncos
16 Bulldogs

Bulldogs trial form and my lack of faith in Barrett's ability will see the Dogs in for another long season. Gus will have to make some hard decisions yet again this year if the Bulldogs are to rise to greatness again.

Sea Eagles or Eels to win the premiership for mine.

I thought Titans could improve on last year but their spine is so inexperienced.
I think Souths could struggle without Reynolds and clubs always fall in a heap after Bennett leaves, so I have them missing the 8.
Bulldogs look so much better on paper than last year so should move up.
Broncos and Warriors at the bottom cause their coaches are complete pretenders.

I’m very confident of the top 5 (though not the order), think teams 6-12 are interchangeable, Broncos will be the best of the rabble, but bottom 3 could end up equal spooners.

Few call outs for me;
- Manly will be nowhere near as good. Tom can’t be as good again, and they’re bottom 4 fodder if he gets hurt.
- Panthers will struggle as defending premiers and have lost some important depth - Origin time or injuries will sting
- Rabbits will struggle but still be better than most of middle teams
- Tigers/Cows will have same issues as each other. Expensive, ineffective 7’s, and coaches who team don’t buy into
- Eels will bottle it

Not so confident in the order, but confident the top 5 will consist of those teams. I may be being slightly optimistic of the Sharks chances, but I’m confident they’re in for a good year - lots of expensive dead Woods moved on, had the makings of a decent squad anyway (if coached well). Easily the best recruitment in the Comp, and a highly rated coach - they’re in for a big year I reckon.
For the first time since 2017, I’ll be more surprised if they bomb than if they go on a roll and give the comp a real shake.

They've improved their roster no doubt , but this notion that Fitzgibbon is highly rated is a furphy , no one knows that , hes been an assistant & yeah a good one in a good system under a good head coach , same as Demetriou for Souths. Based on that unknown I can't have the Sharks any higher then 7th or 8th.

Rabits to slide without Reynolds, Walker to be suspended for 10 rounds for fighting Reggie the rabbit.

Tits won’t be in contention for a top 8 position, they have one of the most inexperienced spines in the Comp.

We’ll see on Fitz, but highly rated by Roosters and NSW people, and very impressive in the media so far - plus team look fitter, stronger and more organised than they have in last couple of years (though granted can’t take much from pre-season).
The way I see it though, there’s quite a few ‘top teams’ who’ve lost key players and depth, or who I think will slip back towards the pack as don’t see them sustaining previous performance (Souths, Manly, Panthers and Eels). Sharks weren’t a million miles away on their day last year, have replaced dead wood with top line talent, in areas they needed, look fitter, and have a new coach with big raps. I’m clearly optimistic (maybe naively) as they’re my team, but I think they can have a red hot crack. Good luck with injuries, other teams slipping, the very top teams not particularly getting stronger - there’s a gap there.
