I don’t feel so bad saying Vonny has put on some kilos as well.

Yeah it's not personal. I quite like her but the show went from the argy bargy of talking footy into a non stop laughathon.

Agree. Its difficult for a lot of ex-players - they are paid to have an opinion, but its inevitable that people will find examples of where they appear hypocritical based on their own actions as a player.

Cronk's analysis and insights are first class. He knows his shit. My bigger issue with him is that he is a bit of boring merkin.

I think people are being harsh on Vonny. And only because she is not Ben.
She was hired/chosen to be the host of the show, not to offer critical discussion and opinions. That is what the rest of the boofheads are supposed to do.
I think she has done well to keep the show flowing and let the blokes be the critical analyzers.
She has done her job admirably so far.

The programme was always going to change somewhat with a different host with a different personality at the helm. For those of you expecting it to stay the same with a Ben Ikin clone, well, you are all just as dumb as the "experts" on the show offering their "expert" opinions.

I wouldn't say that most here didn't expect the show to change a little since the main host was changing. You would need to be pretty dumb to think that. But the host, as Ikin could do when called upon or felt compelled to, could contribute to the discussion with his own analysis. That is what most of us want for a show like this which is meant to be the flagship NRL discussion, analysis and opinion show on the only RL channel in the country.

I don't think it is to much to ask for that they can find someone intelligent enough that has good to great insight into the game and can facilitate discussion without becoming overbearing in doing so. What we don't need is for a lightweight host that JUST facilitates discussion, nervously giggles constantly to reassure herself and doesn't have any real opinions of her own. That can only appeal to dumb people that are easily pleased.

P.S. I have always liked Vonny and still do, but as it turns out she is not, so far, good for this show especially now that she just repeats almost everything that was just said as if we have dementia and jiggles regularly when nervous. How she has regressed like this I don't know, but it it doesn't make for good hosting a show like this by a long shot. She used to be better then Lara, but I feel Lara has now overtaken her and I don't think Lara is a great host either, but at least she makes some small opinions and doesn't giggle.

What we may see down the line is that we find women coming out of the NRLW competition that are well spoken and actually very analytical and extremely confident in putting forward their analysis and opinions due to their equal footing with the former male players and even better credentialed then the journalist hacks that pass off as experts. But I feel that maybe still a ways off. But I really hope we see some sooner rather then later, especially if we can get a girl or two that played for the new Parramatta women's team. That would be awesome.

I think you miss the point completely. We WANT a host that CAN give an opinion. It is(or should be) part of the job description. A giggling facilitator doesn't cut it for this type of show.

IMO thats the kind of show NRL360 is. 2 to 4 merkins sitting round giving opinions. Those others host shows that require a host asking others to give opinions. ie different types of shows. ... I think the change has just meant more opportunities for merkins like hooper, hadley, kent to blindly rant. Ikin would sometimes keep em in check.

Not sure Vonny is gonna participate the same. Maybe she will work into it, but ive never seen her be that way.

I actually dont give a shit about vonny taking ikins role - i have absolutely nothing against vonny other than i dont think she fits that particular show format.... i think its more crap they shafted Lara Pitt ... and all Lara jokes aside, I think she was very good. Did her research, had connections, had solid opinions, didnt talk shit, pulled up other mincers when they talked shit.

If she got the arse because the boob quota got filled by Vonny instead, then i think she show will be worse off for that decision.

I have been watching every episode, and every time Vonny has made host comments, or expressed an opinion, I have put Ben Ikin in her place and wondered what people would think if he made the same comments. I've come to the conclusion that honestly, she hasn't been much different to him, both in his/her host role, and his/her comments role.

I believe that most opinions on her performance so far have been based on preconceived biases against her. To those that commented about her weight gain over the years, well that's just childish. What does her weight have to do with her abilities as a host?
She is actually a polished performer as a host, and will only get better over time.
I had my doubts over Fox's choice of her to host this show, as opposed to some blokey bloke, but I've been pleasantly surprised at how smoothly she has fallen into the role.

I think Lara is well informed but boring. Vonny is a better presenter.

I dont know ... ask them ... i would have no problem if they had them both on ..... but it does seem a bit coincidental that she left once vonny arrived, so i am imagining they want no more than 1 chick. I might be wrong.

Ikin would quite often question the opinion of the others and disagree. Vonny does nothing of the sort. It's a giggleathon now and a much different show.
