Tallis, who, agitated to get out of St George, ow sounding all holier than thou, about Galvin, he has to see out his contract etc

As for Crawley , why is he on the show, he provides less than gossip.

In fairness, Tallis actually sat out a season at St George. He has more credibility than most on this issue.

Steve Crawley is head of fox sports Paul's older brother.

Thats why he is on there

I wonder if St George supporters saw his act as noble when they came up just short in the GF that year.

Realistically he’s got next to fk all credibility. He was signed to play with the Dragons and chose to not honour it.
Very true. Tallis' act was one of petulance at not getting what he wanted, not one of credibility in the slightest.

The season he sat out was at Brisbane. He had left St George for $$$uperlague, like the LNP voting merkin he probably is.

2 in a tackle only from Webster who said Mick Cronin suggested it ??

How about penalise the third man in that flops on the tackle, and do that often enough?? Is it that hard ?

Watch any game, at least 20 tackles, 3rd man jumps in when there is absolute no need, all they want to do is slow the ruck

2 man only tackles would make for much better spectacle imo.

And not much change to current defensive tactics - the 3rd man flopper still comes up to the ruck but mainly to become the marker, but can end up providing defence if one of the first 2 tacklers falls off e.g. as a runner makes a tackle break.

I don't think 2-man only tackles would be a good idea - there's something so awesome to see when an entire forward pack picks up a player, and drives him back 15 metres. It's an awesome sight to see, and it signals that the defence is ramping up.

That said, I'm not sure what the answer is

I would think that long-term, the answer would be simply to teach players how to efficiently use their techniques, and strength, to tackle an opponent without assistance.

Working on tackling techniques to get players used to tackling players one-on-one leaves the game at 12-on-12, and incentivises players to use technique.

instead of holding the ball, we use just our legs, then there will be no need to tackle to wrap up the ball near the head. We can add a net to the goal posts so it doesnt accidently hit a fan in the head

Need to increase the incentive for a one on one tackle...especially "old school" around the legs tackle.....maybe they can hold on for 5 secs, no need to immediately let go....at moment a one on one tackle just allows a quick play the ball.....

Players can tackle one on one, but no incentive to do, as it just allows for a quick play the ball and potentially a off load...

should be a dominant tackle so they cant play the ball fast

I think this is where everyone is at the moment as far as tackling technique goes.

You have Tallis and others that say we should tackle lower or better, but rewarding legs tackles went out the window years ago. Lately if a player makes a good one on one legs tackle, the player with the ball riggles out so fast and falls over, he receives a penalty. And its worse when you have a player making a good covering tackle but then the attacking player gets injured, the defender gets on report for a supposed hip drop. So what do you want players to do, because they are taking those risks of low tackles.

Those one on one tackles we used to see with Jorge Taufua, Nigel Plum etc, where so great to see back in the day, but I fear players today would get penalised for tackling too hard.
