So with it confirmed and set in stone for Auckland whats everyones thoughts on it.

I see sportsbet.com have the warriors favourites at $7 interesting. Some of the stipulations are all teams must field at least 1 of the top 5 players and have 9 of there top 25 in their squad of 13

So who would be our 1 from the top 5. just guessing that our top 5 is Manu, Mannering, Johnson, Mateo and Matulino id probably pick Mateo to be it. Not sure i would be a good idea picking Johnson especially after his WC campaign

So my squad would be

Tompkins if he has signed
Laumape
Lowrie
Peyroux
Friend
Bakuya
Godinet
Havili
Pavali
Bhana

Should be a good couple of days and hopefully no injuries

I'm thinking about heading up for it

Hard to pick a winner until all the sides are named really, we could put out a red hot team with Stewart, Taufua, Foran, Cherry Evans, Watmough, Lawrence, Matai, Gutherson, Williams, Horo etc but a lot of them wouldn't play

I will most likely be in attendance. Just got to get all the logistics sorted out. Does anyone know when the tix even go on sale???

With the 7's being the w/e before, it'll be interesting to experience them both back to back. Are the 9's going to try and match the carnival atmosphere, that the 7's does??? We'll find out.

I personally wouldn't risk Tomkins or Mateo in this tournament. Did I read somewhere World Cup players would be exempt (not sure if true or not)? Most of every teams top 5 would be playing World Cup I'd think.

Has anyone heard anything solid about tickets and packages to the Nines???

Seems odd that something's not out there yet. I want to start locking in flights and accommodation.

It hasn't been officially launched. When it is, there will be huge press conferences and such. It's a major sporting event, it will be hard to miss when tickets become available.

NRL Nines *Confirmed today at press conferences at Eden Park in Auckland and in Sydney.

*First tournament February 15 & 16, 2014.

*All 16 NRL clubs will compete, and will include at least 12 of their top 25 players in their squad, and at least one marquee player.

*Games will be two nine-minute halves. Pools of four then knockout matches.

*Auckland Council to invest up to $12 million over the next five years.

*Event expected to generate $2.8 million in spending in Auckland and 32,800 visitor nights in its first year, rising to $6.8 million and 43,000 nights by year five.

* A$2.2 million prize money on offer, including A$500,000 for the winner.

*Ticket prices: gold adult $229, child $179. Silver adult $149, child $109. Bronze adult $99, child $79, green adult $69, child $49, family pass (for alcohol-free zone) $309.

*On sale, September 24.

SMH is reporting one off jerseys for the teams, looks like more Terminator, Inferno and Sub Zero jerseys are on the way.

Warriors would surely be favourites to win the 9's comp
