1. K. Locke

2. G. Fisiahii
3. N. Laumape
4. C. Tuimavave
5. S. Johnson
6. S. Matagi
7. B. Henry
8. S. Lousi
9. T. Leuleuai

10. J. Palavi
11. S. Ikahihifo
12. S. Taukiahio (sp)

I think that's a good mix of top top 25 and youngsters, I would personally want to leave Johnson out but I think he would jump at the chance to play 9's.

Serious question....why do you say that ?

1/2 the team has touch footy experience and the Warriors are an attacking team. When you have 9 players on the field compared to 13 there will be a lot of open spaces for the boys to run through. Even with 13 on 13 the Warriors always find ways to find the try line

Teams like the Sharks that are defensive or don't score a lot of points in the NRL will struggle

Thanks for that mate - it was a genuine question. Personally, I think other teams (thinking about their 20's sides) could well be favourites as well.

Even though you'd probably get your moneys worth over a couple of days, they're a tad pricey, IMO.

9 minutes a half - Parramatta have been practicing for this tournament all season.

Considering the 7's will be $209 next year. For the 9's, there's a good range of tix (ADULT prices):

GOLD = $229
SILVER = $149
BRONZE = $99
GREEN = $69

I might just cop it and go for Gold. Can anyone recommend the best place to stay, that's close to Eden Park???

For mine Godinet, Johnson, Tomkins and maybe Locke for halves/hooker options.

You have to put some up and comers in the team.

Tui Lolohea would be one of the first names you put in.
He is only 18 but Gordon Tietjens tried to sign him for 7s.

Solomone Kata is apparently the quickest over short distances.
He will be a cert.

Also never seen him play but one of the english blokes - Tonks is a high energy backrower
Like wise for Bukuya

How many players from your top 25 do you have to have int he team? I say go with Ropati, Henry, Lowrie, Godinet and Tuimavave.

From media comments it sounds like we are one of the teams super keen to win it, so I expect we will name as strong a side as possible.

Unsure if sarcastic, but Tui, Godinet and Henry would be excellent at this format. But nothing on Hurrell, Tomkins, Johnson etc!

I don't want Tomkins anywhere near the side. We should avoid playing our WC players, unless they are second tier players like Godinet. But then again I have no real interest in this tournament at all. And since it's in Auckland I'm sure we will put out a real strong side

I dont think Johnson should play in it because if he goes down were f*cked for the NRL competition, the competition that we should be aiming to win. Cant see Bellamy letting his big 3 play and as a result i think many coaches will follow the same lead (Inglis, Hayne, Thurston etc) meaning we might not need our big names in there to win it anyway.

Godinet, Tui, Locke, Fish etc could well be enough.

Key point really, each to their own.
To me this is less dangerous than a trial match and we have a chance to sell our club to the public and win a trophy plus a shitload of cash.

Plus it's at Eden Park.
Great publicity.
Hope JRo's fit; know Wazza loves watching him.

I remember going along to the 7s a few years ago, and frankly thinking there was no chance we would get beaten. From memory we got beat by a non NRL team that year...
