NRL and its clubs are expected to palm-off expansion until 2014 or 2015

Of the three favourites which two teams make the most sense?

No tears, which must mean you aren't very happy. My rugby league highlight is helping towards bringing in a foundation team on the beautiful Central Coast. Which should be similar to your highlight which would be helping to keep your own team afloat through these rough times....

I wasn't trying to be funny either with the "more than your team" comment. I'm not bashing the Sharks but besides a few diehards on here, it's not like you have much to cheer about in regards to your own fortunes.

I would argue that point. We have a plan in motion, which is a far cry from what is to come for those arguing the poker machine issue. Our development gets approved and we have security. The knockers can go on like bogans all they like, saying hope they don't approve it, however I refuse to listen to uninformed death riders.

What ever club/s do get admitted, I am happy for them.

I will also add, I don't want to see any fans team out of the NRL in future.

Still don;t understand the point in delaying longer than necessary. Is the club grants for the existing 16 likely to be X% bigger in the years that there are no expansion teams? I doubt it so the clubs really are not benefitting from not have two extra teams in the comp. I could understand it (sort of) if the IC came out and said the $12mill a year (if club grants end up being $6mill) it would cost for two new clubs is going to be split 16 ways for 2013- until the clubs came in, but I don;t get the sense that will happen. The game loses money from not being able to sell the extra game a week plus beenfits of new markets and seems to gain very little from delaying expansion.

ps surely the decision for expansion will need to be made BEFORE the TV rights get negotiated otherwise how can they include it in the media deals?

That's how the AFL did it.

You can always set a clause to sell the 9th game now and for the money to kick in when 2 extra teams are added. No doubt this is what LEK will aim for.

But yes - it would've been smart to add teams before negotiations to get the benefit of the full deal period. But that's what happens when too many fingers are in the pie.

The CC Bears' biggest issue is that we don't have an ARL dinosaur on our books to smooth with the way - Like Paul Broughton (who got the Titans in) or Arko(who saved Manly when they should have been taken out the back and shot).

Seems like that's the only way to do business in the NRL. Pretty professional.
