It was ONE example. I never said it was the only one. But even that one example, you didn't read. You decided to show your prejudice against country football instead. Fair enough. Says a lot though.

I did read it you f**king thick merkin.

You're trying to snake your way out of it, because you've got nothing.

Because the commission haven't tended to your idea/s = Commission are shit

That just about sums you up.

No you didn't you liar. If you'd read what I said you wouldn't have gone off on some prejudiced rant about country football even though I NEVER mentioned it. Caught out.

I could write a massive list of things. But I couldn't be bothered. Ignorant merkins like you who obviously think country people and country rugby league are worthless aren't going to dictate to me about what I will and won't post on here. Perth Red has come up with some pretty fair ideas and I could add plenty more, none of which have been dealt with. If you think it so hard to believe that the ARLC have neglected a hell of a lot of things so far you mustn't have much of a grasp on the sport outside the NRL.

Mate, you have a lot of problems. And I'm being dead serious. I would not be the least bit surprised if you had a whole host of mental health issues.

As I said before, you have nothing. Never had, never will. All fart, no shit. It's why you keep deflecting questions asked of you.

You must find some sort of sick satisfaction in getting into long winded arguments where you purposely just make random shit up and whinge non stop. Whinge, whinge, whinge.

I'm utterly grateful that morons like you are no longer in charge of this great game.

Perhaps there is a God after all.

Where did I say I want them to repeat any behaviours? Are you suggesting that the administrators of the game in the early 90s planned to have the Super League war? What a f**king stupid statement. The ARL before SL had the game on exactly the right track in many ways. If only we had a governing body who was as committed to expansion, the international game and the grassroots as the old ARL. But we don't.

You do realise that I stated they havn't had a plan since 1994? The ARL had a great plan until then, the SL war ended that plan. So I suggest it is your reading skills, particularly in the way of comprehension that needs work. You agree with my point about the ARL plan ending in 1994 and you call it a stupid statement.

Rushing though the ideas you have suggested would be great short term, but thats not we need as a game now, we need a plan to fix things into the future. Your ideas may be part of that future, but suggesting that needs to happen now and rushing it through would be reactionary and repeat behaviours of the past. The method to fix the problems you have pointed out needs to be incorporated into everything else that needs to happen in the game, this requires thought, talk (heaven forbid they get other peoples ideas) and a clear and precise plan.

I support bush football, go the mighty Aberdeen Tigers and the bush, international game and you yourself needs to be a little patient and allow this process to be completed effectively. They have waited 20 years already, what is another year to get this right. If we are in the same place in 12- 18 months time than i would be questioning the ARLC and Dave Smith.

Loving it: Dave Smith on Sunday. Photo: Janie Barrett

One hundred days into his tenure in the ''best job in Australia'', NRL chief executive Dave Smith found himself in the Mollie Dive Stand at North Sydney Oval, watching a group of junior prospects play, alongside a few hundred others.
It might not have been how the former boss of Lloyds International expected to be spending his Sundays in charge of the sport with the billion-plus dollar broadcast deal. But he wasn't underplaying the importance of what was in front of him, as the man who before he started couldn't name the Australian captain was introduced to Parramatta's under-16 skipper.
''Grass roots is what it's all about,'' Smith said. ''You've got to get it right from top to bottom, and I'm very committed to this. We're working through the tier-two review with Jim Doyle. The findings of that will be really important to how we structure the game going forward. What a beautiful day, what a beautiful place. I've had a great day,'' he said.
Smith, who had never been to North Sydney Oval, handed out the two national junior titles, which were won by Parramatta (under-16) and Balmain (under-18).

''It's fantastic,'' Smith said. ''The fact of the matter is, the grassroots, from under-six on, is so important to us. To be able to come and see such great games of footy. That first game (Parramatta against Norths Devils) - a try with seconds to go, and a kick to win. And also the spirit they played in. I went down into the change room and had a chat to the boys. When they lose, it's hard to lose, but to see the way these guys dealt with losing, it was tough but they were very grown up.
''It's been great. This is what it's all about.''

Here's what I came up with for grass roots, don;t think it is mega expensive and pretty achievable imo

1. A subsidised national public liability insurance scheme for clubs
2. A subsidised national personal insurance scheme for players
3. A start up grant scheme for new clubs
4. A development grant scheme for clubs to improve facilities
5. A national kit scheme where clubs can order kits at greatly reduced costs
6. More development officers
7. School grant scheme in expansion states and country areas to encourage snr schools to take up RL
8. A RL version of Auskick for jnr schools
9. Funding for the WC Pirates SG Ball team and elite academy
10. A PNG academy and scouting system + funding for PNG Q'land cup team
11. A Fiji academy and grant scheme
12. Better funding to the NZRL
Nice work Red.

As long as they don't use it to skew figures and misrepresent true junior numbers, I'm for this as well - but make no mistake, kiddykick is nothing more than a glitzy marketing campaign veiled in the idea of being 'juniors'.

The NRL already has school programs underway - increasing their presence is a good thing, but not in the cheap and tacky way that the program you have listed has gone about its business, particularly in the northern states.

Perth Red excellent work on putting some thought into compiling a list of areas you see as priority. In response can I just emphasise the D. Smith quote from today's SMH:

''Grass roots is what it's all about,'' Smith said. ''You've got to get it right from top to bottom, and I'm very committed to this. We're working through the tier-two review with Jim Doyle. The findings of that will be really important to how we structure the game going forward.

From all accounts Jim Doyle is exactly the man you would want to be conducting the review into grassroots. I'm sure you will find plenty to be happy about once he's review is put into action. And when this happens we can also remind the impatient trolly troll of he's unfortunate quote:

All these ARLC fanbois with a hard on for David Smith will still be here in another 6 months saying "give them a chance" when they are still talking and not acting. And in 12 months. And so on. Meanwhile the game's potential slips further away.
