On the Dogs, I can't wait to hear Gus explain how the season spiralled from the point he played dumb on Galvin then blew up the joint to get him in. From that point, the Dogs beat a top 8 team once - us (I'm not counting the NSW Cup Penrith side they got). Losses v top 8 sides in that period: 7.

Or even better, as per another thread:
Dogs win 10 from 12 without Galvin (82%)
Dogs win 6 from 14 with him (42%)

But most people are scared of Gus and he won't talk to people who hold him to account (Chammas) so that'll never come

Gus got his dance moves on... 🤣

What he said about them being false leaders was 100% true, but the selections also hurt them, no question…. But they had a good season

Their season kinda matched ours too didn’t it, albeit it for very different reasons.

But we both came out strong before dying a slow death, and the wheels even started wobbling around the same time… we lost Barnett in Rd 13, and Galvin’s first game with them was Rd 14.

I stopped after 'we don't need to discuss that publicly'

Seriously. The goon goes on a podcast and analyses other clubs, rips them at times, is on 100% Footy, takes a big pay cheque and has for decades to be in the media, but we're not allowed to hear a dot from the Dogs? I hate hypocrites and he's a cherry ripe one

Then I watched on, more rubbish. Media taking pot shots...let's ignore that he does it, too. It's fans saying the same thing.

I actually hope the Dogs miss the 8 next year and see what merry dance Gus can conjure up then.

How bad is the comment “he has never played 7 before in his life” after you’ve completely upended a side running at the top to play him at 7

Also saying how great he was on Sunday is a stretch, I thought he was dogshit

I think so - both pretty limited teams, falsely high on the table given an easy draw and some of the best teams faltering - we lost some key players, they made team changes - both impacted the teams... we went out fighting, so did they imo, the performance against Melbourne was impressive, and and then they were banged up for Penrith, and Penrith were amazing in that half

Gus lives in this Trumpian (wow, that word is recognised by spell check) world where everything he does is genius, he never does anything wrong, and must defend everything he does with all his might. And anyone who says otherwise is a hound.

Galvin has a decent passing game but he overplays it a lot, and the idea that he is anywhere near an NRL-grade 7 is laughable.

They're putting a tremendous amount of eggs in the basket of an unproven 19-year-old and an even less proven 19-year-old. Good luck young men, if it doesn't work out for you, Gus will flick you on like a slod of dirt off his boot, whilst telling the world you're a good person and been great value

I was at the Melbourne game, they competed incredibly hard and could have won that another day. Losing Crichton couldn't be covered for, he is one of the best big game players in the comp.

Gus did fail to mention, however, that the Dogs beat the minor premier Raiders in Canberra two weeks before they pushed go on the Galvin signing.

It hurts a bit but I feel we would've beaten the Dogs last weekend. The five-peaters didn't need those friendly calls the week before.

So, anyway, it's on to Brisbane. Glory awaits.

Casey McLean on that other wing, he is going to be a beast.

Burton will cost a lot - I'm staggered that there's the suggestion he'd be moved on from the Dogs

Would love to see a Penrith Cronulla GF
