Souths made a big statement there...

Traditionally I hate Manly, but feel a bit for them now, so much crap swirling around them, yet the continue to perform - not sure whether their slump is to do with that, or just missing a few key but unsung players

Would you have been so generous if the warriors got smashed first week of the finals?

Couple more open questions after first 2 1/2 games

Does Penrith's win over minor premiers put our loss to them in final round into perspective?

On paper is Penrith's team clearly better than the warriors?

Really amazing win by the Panthers. I knew they would push the Roosters, you could just see they had the right frame of mind when they beat us last week. At least we lost to a genuine contender to knock us out last week, better than getting knocked out by losing to the Raiders or something.

Not sure why Warriors and Manly would be comparable... Manly are in the finals, we are not. Manly are usually in the finals, we are not. Manly have again performed despite off field shenanigans up there with what's happened at the Tigers and Cronulla... they have runs on the board, and hence earned respect imo. The will be disappointed, but Souths were tremendous, and Manly don't match up well to that big pack, and the losses of Buehrer and Ballin are huge, despite their relatively low profiles

As to Penrith, well yes their team is clearly better than ours... that difference is more evident on the field than on paper, and that's where it counts. Their players know their roles, do them, and compete for 80-mins

On paper outside of the Roosters, Rabbits I don't think many teams are "better" on paper at least not massively better that it should matter to the result. Each has their strengths and weaknesses. Currently the Panthers are winning on things that can't be measured on paper, unity, guts, determination etc

I'd throw one J Soward into that mix as well.

Yeah, never been a Soward fan, but my word he's playing well at the moment

That video ref disallowed try for the Storm is one of the worst refereeing decisions I've ever seen. Don't think they would have come back to win anyway, but man that was a nasty momentum killer. Video ref stuff is getting way out of hand.

It was disgraceful.

Not the knock-on itself but the fact that we went back a million years to check that.
Surely the on-field call needs to stick after a certain point.

Storm score it would have been 24-10 with plenty of time, game very much on

Was very rough call!
Didn't catch much of the game, but did see Hoffman practicing for the Warriors with a shirt grab for dogs 4th(?) try.

Yeah the video ref thing is out of control...especially with players milking penalties by overplaying an 'injury' - its so dumb of the powers that be to have ever allowed that to happen and we have had to put up with milking garbage all year. Its soccer like. If the on-field ref misses it, play on and they can just cite the offender after the match if need be.

Is that unfair to the team that cops the highshot/twist whatever? Yep, but who gives a shit, better than slowing the game down and milking. Reprimand the onfield refs for not doing their job..

Go the Panthers!

Saw that, also fell for a Lafai dummy on as he ran in his second try. And when Roberts threw an intercept for Lafai's first Hoffman was the man who ran an out line instead of hitting the hole so he should fit in well next year :D

Lui might be having flashbacks to another GF qualifying semi at the SFS, and the night after it.

Anyway, Chooks look to have the Cowboys beaten.

Chooks look good, a few lucky breaks lead to tries, forwards rolling up the field. They fell asleep a little in the back half.

Lui's forgotten all about the choke v Warriors in 2011.

This could be one of the great comeback wins.

30-0 down, now 30-24. Heaps of time left.
