I have just thought of a formula that should be placed on the notice board at our guys training areas. It is -

D + C = W

What do you guys think?

Cheers DD

Bulldogs too good for Roosters and looks like Dean Young's assistant coaching skills are working for the Cowboys at the moment - 15 nil against the Eels.

The Roosters are a shadow of the years gone past. They seem to be playing without any direction but who cares? The more they lose the better.

Good point! Works both ways though! Plenty of bias often exists in many arguments around Assistance Coaches effectiveness; If Cowboys go pear shaped will that then be Young’s fault? Hard to measure Assistant C

yep see your point and agree, if you have a look at peyton when he went to the warriors he did a grand job with them, admittedly last year with the cows they were woeful, now they seem to be hitting their straps, hard to call who is responsible for the big form turnaround, I would like to think peyton has sorted a few things out but its hard to tell if the AC was also responsible, one would think he would have to be to some extent.

Just having a thought here about our last couple of posts concerning AC's. When the Dragons are going poorly in defense or attack, who do we blame, the attack and defensive coaches, actually we blame everyone :))) but yet after last Mondays massive defensive display I'm not sure that I have read one post congratulating the defensive coach, I think it maybe gentle, but we sure are eager to bag him, and sometimes it is warranted, but so is praise when its due as well. So here's my thankyou to the defensive coach that showed us a magnificent display last week, and truly what the boys can do under extreme pressure from the other team and match officials, well done.

I think that it is a combination of several factors, which is probably obvious. Payten did do a good fill in job with the Warriors. He had to adapt again when he moved to the North Queensland area in 2021and assembled his squad with the help of his assistant coaches Dean Young, Steve Georgallis and Ben Rauter. I don't think that they expected to do that much in 2021 and that was reflected in them finishing 2nd last.

I think they have resolved issues with some of the players in 2022, particularly Jason Taumalolo and they are now gelling as a team with much improved defence and completions - a deadset combination to a winning formula. Dean Young is their defensive coach and he and Payten are combining well with Georgallis to go with the solid team they have - all giving 100%.

Well said Dave, I'm hoping that the Dragons after the last couple of weeks can follow suite.

True. Still, credit to the Storm. It is the clinical nature of their coaching that means they know how to capitalise. Even on a good day we would play Knights back into it. They are super impressive.
Agreed. The Storm hey. They have scored 120 points in two games. Some teams are lucky to win 120 points in 10 games.

Newcastle now coming last in the comp. No wonder Tyson wants to leave as per some reports/rumours.

We have got to win today against the Tigers. We play the Storm next week which we all know isn't a game we can chalk up as a win with any confidence. We lose today and we head towards the bottom of the ladder.

Reynolds beats the Bunnies. Bunnies made too many mistakes. Broncos looking OK this year. Bunnies up and down. They were lucky to beat us I think. Not their year.
Ah yes the old Bennett leaving factor that comes into play again, Bennett was more than happy to see Reynolds leave the bunnies, all souths had to do was see how each team has performed after his departure.
