To be fair to Fittler in 95 it’s impossible to focus when you’re in court and the coach isn’t even there and is fighting the biggest media company in the world. I remember his story the night before game 3 that him and the chief were in their hotel and the rest of the team were just f**king around on the pokies all night. Right at that moment they knew they were done.

Fittler was also unprepared for the captaincy. He got it by basically being amongst the most experienced players still with the ARL. Where he shone that year was in the World Cup semi-final. His performance is what ensured Australia made the final, and they needed extra time to do it.

Fittler probably was the ARL golden boy so it would‘ve been a marketing ploy as well.

NRL likes to remind you how amateur it is sometimes. Let's not focus on the blokes that have passed on, let's focus on the two jabronis singing the song

Yeah can’t argue with Ron Coote.

that’s true, but you can argue all day about so many deserving players who’ll never get a gig. The NRL probably thinks it has caught up revision of the past and can now focus on modern era players to fill the next spots. For mine, there are still so many names that could be Immortals and HOFers.

Weird going back thirty years after immortals from more recent times

they have to pick someone from the eels and dogs sides from the 80s next

and norm proven even if they have so many saints in there already

How about closing the door on the kitchen so you can hear what is being said instead of all the cutlery and plates getting stacked?

It sounded like the end of the Yum Cha service at Imperial Peking Blakehurst on a Sunday ffs!
