Apologies if this isn't the right thread. It applies to NRL so didn't put it in superleague thread but feel free to move it.

Was just wondering if the NRL has secured UK TV rights for this season after the setanta deal collapsed? Am going back for 6 weeks during the season and dont want to watch it on internet, would rather watch it on tv in the boozer etc.

I read on RLFANS.COM an email from the NRL claiming that they've basically secured a TV deal with details to be announced next week. They may also have a pay-per-view service for UK residents from NRL.COM (or BigPond).

see bottom of link - haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else though

If you subscribe to ESPN, you can enjoy 46 additional live Barclays Premier League games, 30 additional SPL games and live games from the UEFA Europa League and some of the top European leagues.

Plus, a wide range of live sports from North America including baseball, basketball and ice hockey with the bonus channel ESPN America.

On top of all that, there's action from Australia's NRL, the Southern Hemisphere's elite rugby league championship

Don't know about the USA coverage sorry.

With the UK, I just can't see ESPN UK taking it as they show so much AFL and its only one channel. Don't know where they'd have the room to show league. I would love Sky Sports to get it again but I don't think they will. There is talk of ITV baing a bit interested.

Just hope a tv station gets it as I would much rather watch games in the pub than crowded round a laptop.
