Whilst I think the numbers are very interesting - I don't think Facebook likes which involve a simple click is "a better indicator of club popularity than club membership and match attendance" at all.
There was a big thread on this spanning over at least a year somewhere that might interest you.

Facebook likes aren't exactly representative of the size of a team's fanbase. For example, there's no f**king way that Manly, Roosters, Storm, Warriors and Titans have anywhere near the fans that Saints do.

Broncos, Warriors and Storm have a large city to draw likes from, Sydney is obviously diluted and then you've got the smaller cities who are going to be down the list as their population isn't as large.
Then there's the corporate likes and the bigger the company the more drawing power they have.
Then there's the casual Queensland follower, who would like all the Queensland teams and Storm as well.
Stick to memberships.
