Hey guys, I'm just wondering why you dislike Phelan? I don't think I've ever really seen him much before tonight, but I thought he was pretty good.

I found him much better than Smith (whose pompous self-righteous rants I used to find very frustrating - reminded me of Hadley)

The major turn-off for me is Sailor. I'm over the jokes about how great he is. It was funny at first, but its a bit old and painful for my tastes.

It's not so much I dislike Ryan Phelan, it's more I prefer Warren Smith. As I said in my feedback to Foxsports, Phelan is an assett to the station, I just don't believe it's in the role of hose of NRL On Fox. With that said, he did an ok job last night.

Im not a great fan of either Smith or Phelan but if i had to pick i'd say Smith was the lesser of 2 evils. Just. I don't mind Del but his jokes about himself get real tired real fast so he's gonna have to bring much more than just that. Wiz is ok, tries to be too funny and fails most of the time. Laurie is Laurie and you have to have him in there somewhere i spose. IMO the panel needs more Badge and hopefully they mix it up a bit so we don't get the same people every week.

I've been watching the show for a few years now, and on last nights efforts they've lost me. If Sailor's head gets any bigger it will just explode, why they got rid of Alexander is beyond me he has more football knowledge in his little finger than those other four boofheads put together.

He appears that way but the guys knowledge of footy is still good, nothing wrong with a bit of carachter thats why I probably prefer Smith to Phelan but I thought the show was pretty good.

Ryan Phelan is a bit of a let down, the show has lost a little something without NRL On FOX original Warren Smith. It's a shame the brainstrust at FOXSPORTS have gone down this avenue as Smith was in many ways the glue that held this show together.

I chose to write to FOXSPORTS to express my dissatisfaction, I implore others to do the same:

I much prefer Phelan over Smith. However in saying that I'm still not that big a fan of the show.

The Sunday Footy show is the best current league show going.

It used to be the Half hour NRL Deluxe show midweek online - That show was great, I was (and still am) so pissed off when they axed it for their stupid Bigpond sports weekend format.

Simply put, the guy is clueless. He's an AFL convert, and has the same level of understanding of the game as a 10 year old. He speaks and presents well, but he can't analyse the game to save his life, and has been found out quite a few times over the years when discussing the game with people who know what they're talking about.

I'm not a fan of Smith either, but at least he has knowledge about the game. NRL on FOX is the best show we have for actually analyzing matches, Phelan will degrade it significantly.

The show has definitely lost something without Warren Smith too. I don't think I will watch it again.

One of the things that I loved with Warren Smith there was the banter/conflict between the panel and they have lost that with Phelan as the host. Dell was great too. He mixes humour with his opinion which makes it more interesting.

Spot on on both counts. But I would get rid of that useless Laurey Daley and replace him probably with Greg Alexander. I mean even ch9 realised what a hoax Daley was and punted him after one season. The man is a walking and not to intelligent cliche.

agreed. i like phelan. no, he might not be as knowledgable as smith, but hes a better presenter, and he knows enough to be able to ask the right questions to the panellists who can analyse a game.

Someone who has their own opinion (Smith) or someone who introduces stuff and lets others provide the opinion (Phelan).

Personally I dont really mind which way they go as either option can work (and any league show is better than no league show).

I actually enjoyed Smith having his own opinion and getting into arguements with Brandy and Wiz etc and I was saddened to see Smith get the arse.

Has Brandy gone on to the tactics show on a Tuesday or have they just pulled back his use on the station? I'm assuming he's doing Monday Night Football?

if you watched him when others were talking he was not paying any attention to them just sitting there looking at Phelan waiting for his chance to show himself of again somehow

I think he should be sacked purely for the odd way his cheek puffs out when he pronounces words with the letter 'P' in them.
