Nrl plans for a 20 team comp

If it comes down to Brisbane Tigers, PNG, South Island Kea and West Coast Pirates for the next three licences then it's obvious who should miss out.

PNG.

The average humidity in Port Moresby is 76.9%.

It's one of the poorest and most violent cities in the world.

How many women and children will want to be confined to a secure compound?

It'll never be self-sufficient and Labor's proposal only covers 10 years.

But….but $600 million.

don’t you want the NRL to pocket tens of millions of dollars off the backs of the poor papuans?

100%. It’s probably going to happen unfortunately but the next three sides is easy (in whatever order) NZ 2, Perth and Brisbane side. Done and done.

I gotta admit, watching them put a club together in PNG will be very interesting. It's a logistical nightmare. I'm not sure who you would get to do it. Ribot would probably be best credentialed

I'm getting really angry with V'landys and Bennett for giving this insane proposal any oxygen. If V'landys awards PNG the licence then the logistical and political problems it will cause will linger long after V'landys steps down as Chairman. The fact V'landys is giving this proposal his tick of approval for a poultry $600m over 10 years from Labor shows he is out of touch with reality and doesn't care about the game.

Labor deserves to be confined to the periphery of politics for putting forward this crazy scheme.

DFAT tells Australians to avoid travelling to PNG due to its high rate of violent crime and poverty, yet the Labor Gov that runs the department wants elite Australian rugby league players to live there?

If Albo thinks it is such a great move then he and his rent-a-girlfriend can move over there when he gets voted out of parliament.
