Nrl players u say play at club

when and if u saw current nrl players at club level, did they impress you?

i'm talking mainly to JG crew and Lee TM, coz thats the only WA player i've heard of, but if any1 saw any1 else play did u rate them as the NEXT big thing?

I know alot of boys who are in force acadamies/ in force squad, and they never where like OMFG that guy is awesome, i mean they were good, but not as tho they dominated the field everytime they stepped on it

my mate was offerd a contract by canberra vikings, i played with him since yr 8, and he was really good, but he wasn't at that level that u'd anticipate a player to get a contract offer.

There's quite a number of players in the NRL who're from the WARL: Lee TeMaari (who you've already mentioned) - Joondalup to Canterbury (via St.George-Illawarra), Corey Paterson - South Perth to Newcastle, Daniel Holdsworth - North Beach to Canterbury (via St.George-Illawarra), Jon Green - South Perth (?) to Canterbury (via Cronulla), and a few more who I can't think of at this moment in time.

Personally, I don't recall seeing any of them playing over here, however I do have several teammates who have played with and against them. Perhaps Joondalup_Giant is one of them ... I don't know.

about 3 years ago we had a ex reds number 7 WARL guy take us for a lesson on flag belt rugby, and he said some player had come over to WA so he could make a NRL squad, does any1 know who these guys may be?

the only ex-red working for the WARL is Chris Dever as far as im aware, and he was a center. hooker matt fuller is also associated with the WARL.
reds halfback in '97 was Matt Rodwell.
no idea why why a player would come to WA to get into an NRL squad
think you might mean the other way around

Jon Green was definitely at Cronulla at one stage a few years ago - possibly didn't play First-Grade though.

Matt Peterson did start at Belmont Steelers, went to Newcastle, but left for North Queensland before playing First-Grade.

dont think hes cracked first grade at st george either in the jim beam cup for shellharbour marlins.

would be good if the Reds could link up with an NRL club as a sort of feeder club

Was hoping we might have been able to do it with Sth's as part of that project but looks like that won't happen. Problem for NRL teams is the distance involved in sending first team fringe players to WA and back if they have to call them up or drop them.
