NRL Rare Feats

Mullins I’m sure had multiple rare feats during that freak run in 1995. A try off 2 x chips. Back to back weeks with tries from kick returns. I’m sure plenty of others that raiders fans would be able to fill in
One was against Cronulla at Caltex, I remember my sister had him in the daily doubles and when he picked up the kick return I said hey if he scores you win, he went 70 metres and scored.

3 premierships at 3 clubs (non Sydney at that), those three clubs their first premierships too.

Phil Sigsworth
3 GF losses for 3 different clubs (Newtown, 81; Manly, 83; Bulldogs, 86) against the same opponent, Parramatta.
Geoff Gerrard gets another mention. Played for the Eels in 76 and 77 in the losing grand finals and then goes to manly and loses 2 grand finals to the Eels.

Just looked up that game, only listed as 3 errors on the NRL match centre. Given the lore of the match (and the held breath every kick fielded by Manu for the rest of his career) that surprises me, I among every other Warriors fan remember it being an absolute shocker but maybe we were a bit harsh in retrospect!

At least he had his own rare feat in the record books with 10+ tries a year for 10 consecutive seasons.

Edit : checked the Ed Kosi stats out of curiosity for the infamous 70-10 ANZAC thrashing by the Storm, where Warriors fans had a similarly dim view of his performance echoing that Manu game, turns out he officially also only had three errors with a 100% tackle efficiency (two tackles made none missed!). This is one game where stats don't tell the story, I guess not even attempting a tackle to let the opposition burn you all night doesn't count as 'missed' hah!
That's why effective tackle % is a pointless stat.

Mal Meninga - shortest political career of all time?
It’s quite funny but I actually have a lot of respect for Mal doing that. Realised the position wasn’t for him and stepped down on his own terms avoiding that nasty mean political life.

Peter Penaia at Canberra for shortest first grade career of all time - pretty sure he took the first hit up off the kick off in his only game, was injured in the tackle and never played first grade again.
