Run metres are not important. Patea’s aggressive runs through the middle of the field are a bonus.

Ideally we need players that can tackle effectively for long minutes.

We need Patea to get up to 50-60 minutes of strong defence in cup.

Until he can do that Henry is the better option. I think anyway

He did on Saturday against the Tigers. Schneider played dummy half for the last 10 minutes. And it's not the first time

Yeas i get that. You just have to have a 14 thats no real use unless theres an injury. If Schneider or Cole are 14 and subbing Kenny every game as a tactical decision then I'd be less against it.

I got on them when we beat the Eels to start our winning run.

Though in hindsight the Brisbane match was the best time to do it. That was a pressure match in front of a 50k crowd and we killed it. Absorbed all that pressure in defence early and scored 5 straight. Reminded me of the Sharks game at Cronulla last year just not quite as dominant.

I don't mind letting other teams take the favourites tag. But I think we are the clear contender.

The bye week after Newcastle a few teams on the fringe of the 8 lost. Same too before we played that game. I got on the Saturday night and they continue to lose.

Alamoti in the 14 would be nice. Tago can have a short stint in the Backrow if required, Alamoti could cover Wing, Centre and Fullback at a pinch. At least he offers something off the bench, something Schneider fails to do.
Cole is a better option also, covers Centre, Halves and Hooker if needed through injury. He even played a few games at 1 in NSW Cup.

We've gone the 14 that can play 7 a lot in the last few years because Cleary has been a risk and there's no shuffle that can replace him. He looked pretty unencumbered on the weekend. I wonder if we'd go more for a Sommerton/Toelau/Alamoti if there was minimal Cleary risk.

You can have that without wasting a bench spot. You have Schneider sub for Kenny whenever ivan chooses. Allows you to cover cleary just in case, kenny gets a rest or plays middle. But no the goose who can't keep up with the conversation goes to me wanting cleary injured.

Probably because there is better options than Schneider at 14. As people on here mentioned repeatedly Schneider doesn’t cover as many positions as others and he is rubbish.
