Yeah I’m not a fan of it. I also still can’t figure out why the hell the receiving team can’t touch the ball until it goes 10m, let along be penalised for itIs it time we start talking about the legitimacy of short kicks offs? Is there a stat somewhere of how many are successful? Seems like it's an almost dead set certainty for a fresh set 10m out middle of the field, as opposed to 35+ down field
Ponga should be donating 2/3rds of his salary back to the club.
Carrigan and Reynolds quoted as saying that the Taupau liking of a media post is a bad look, and he is going to have to sit down with all the senior players and explain himself
This comes from the same club who had a bloke drive drunk and full of drugs, while not holding a licence, and veer onto the opposite side of the road and collect another car injuring the young girl. No sacking for that and crickets from the senior players
SJ was pretty accurate. we had a pretty successful time of it in 2023. Ford was quite good at snaffling them. Berry too i seem to remember. Not so much in 2024. Metcalf is not good enough with the boot in 2025 so far.Is it time we start talking about the legitimacy of short kicks offs? Is there a stat somewhere of how many are successful? It's still 14-0 at halftime to the Chooks. I'll be 0/2 for tipping tonight. I'm so glad no money's involved. At this rate you watch the Tigers steam home on Sunday. What a great season!Robert Toia with a coach killer. Far out.
Speaking of SJ, geez he’s making a good fist of his move into media post footy, he’s already way better than some of the more established guys (looking at you Gordon Tallis). I’d say he’s going to have a solid career as a presenter for a couple of decades if he wants to.SJ was pretty accurate. we had a pretty successful time of it in 2023. Was hoping for a Roosters win to give us the chance to go equal first if we can get past the dolphinsIt's still 14-0 at halftime to the Chooks. I'll be 0/2 for tipping tonight. I'm so glad no money's involved. At this rate you watch the Tigers steam home on Sunday. What a great season!
Holy shit I’ve just watched it… what in the fk is that guy on??
Dogs are never beaten, their attitude is A++. They have a pretty decent squad but I don't think any side works harder for each other, we're close but probably lack the star quality they have in Kikau, Burton, Crichton etc. It's still 14-0 at halftime to the Chooks. Ah, that explains it. I didn't realise that.I think it was just sped up, which made it look like he was tweaking

Still talking like a real germ, which I've never seen from him
Yeah that's definitely part of the equation. I would think physical + mental fatigue would be part of it as well. If you can get it down to the 50m line and make a tackle on the 35, the first 3 tackles at least are not on-line defensive set-ups. So if I'd just defended 2-3 sets on my line, or it was near halftime or fulltime (presuming we weren't down near fulltime) I'd probably want to go longer. And then also depending on how creative or predictable the other team is in our 20m line.I think that a part of the conversation would have to be how many of those fresh sets 10m out actually lead to tries though. I know that it seems much better to be defending with the attack coming at you from deeper down into the field, but I do remember there being a conversation about how having an opportunity to contest for the ball made it generally favourable in the risk v reward analysis.
