Origin round, a bit of a bludge, really. Although, I love the fact there's NRL games all weekend and the Origin is in its traditional Wednesday night slot.
We'd usually see some struggling teams take advantage of the Origin stars being in camp, we'll see if that is the go this year.
Tonight, interesting, Titans v Cowboys. The latter will be smarting after being shown up by Penrith last week. Once again, if the GC can go eighty minutes, then it's close. But they can't.
Friday, an under strength Panthers should still hold out the Dogs. Penrith just have a great roster, and talent to spare. The Bulldogs interim coach is yet to see his bounce.
Saturday at Brookvale it's not the NRL's showpiece, that's for sure. It should still be an entertaining watch though, both sides are reasonably even, with coach Brown, especially, under enormous pressure. Dessie will be hungry for a win too, his reputation demands better results.
Sunday, let's close out with the Raiders v Roosters. Two teams with some key personnal out. Canberra need this though, they really do. The Roosters? They're on track to finish in the top-six quite comfortably but may have a flat feeling, knowing, ultimately, that Penrith will be just too good, for every team, in the end.
Enjoy.
