@Beav - what do you make of the reports coming out about Tom and Jake?

Tom considering moving offshore rather than play against the club or jeopardise their ability to retain youngsters, and Jake potentially only being offered a 1yr 500k extn.

Turbo once again showing what a champion man he is, but that offer for Jake is insulting.

Surely neither of those things will actually happen?
All media rubbish for me. Tom is still only 28 years old, his next deal will be smaller, he was already trying to hand money back last year. I understand the Lehi Hopoate chat, he is a freak, but I have also watched the Hopoate name walk out or stuff up with the club on at least 4 occasions.

Jake, at this stage of his career, somewhere around the 600k mark is probably reasonable. He has absolutely destroyed his body for the club for over a decade. The game is going down a USA style highlights reel, attack only side of things with fans, there are 2 sides of the ball though and he is still absolutely elite defensively. He wasn’t there against Parramatta and Parra went through the middle for 80mins. That press interview after the DCE saga spoke volumes about the bloke and the club should not try and take advantage of that. When he got knocked out in Townsville there were clips of a 12 year old lad praying Jake would be ok, someone saw it and flew him down for the game last week, and there are a few videos online of Jake giving him so much of his time on the sideline and walking the match ball out etc, speaks to the character of him

The management would want to be careful with how they tread, they are already on the nose with plenty of long time supporters

If so I'm quite shocked as I thought Brad Arthur was a sure thing. He'd even, reportedly, bought a house over there. I have inside word remember, and I'm kind of dreading seeing that person again.
All the indications for a long time have been that is was Arthur’s job. Weird turn of events
