NRL Rd 13 2025 - General Non-Warriors Thread

Still plenty of time to lose it, but how do you go from being absolutely putrid last week to putting on that 40mins tonight

DCEs rep career on the line so he has turned up for the first time in 2 months, vintage display

I could never understand why any Warriors supporters had much love for Jazz, but I can see it more now, it’s the effort. Having a great game

28-6, Manly. Nearly done...and Koula puts the fizz on it, 34-6, final.

So many questions about Brisbane this season. Is Haas the only one trying?

What a beautiful final try

Proud of the crowd for giving it to Ezra for the full 80mins, he was very full of himself when he went in early

Buzz will be out of tissues at his joint getting all excited about another week hammering MaGuire

Brisbane, haven’t seen many bigger falloff’s considering they were a bees dick off winning a grand final 20 months ago and looked destined to be at the top for years to come

In that failed 2023 season Brisbane acted like they'd won everything when they'd won nothing. What's worse is that they haven't learnt their lesson. Walsh returning won't improve that sorry scenario one bit.

As if this is news to anyone! But even Madge can't seem to fix it.

I wonder when it's happened in history, that both GFists missed the finals two years later?

I think my least favourite team (behind the Storm who live there as a fixture) is the Tigers. Geez they're all puff and bluster, but when it comes to fronting up, they go missing in the worst way. Three times they've had a backs to the wall week this year (Galvin dropped/Benji criticised, week after losing 64-0 to Melbourne and this week Galvin going) and they've produced three shithouse performances.

Titans are similarly putrid, Melbourne were bog average yesterday but didn't really have to do anything.

As for Brisbane...a beautiful case study for hard work over talent, team over individual etc.

yeh, i doubt the people they are trying to draw are going to know Mals NRL coaching record back to front.
Its more the Bears want him to be a figurehead. He's an Immortal, hes larger than life. Hes going to get people interested way more than Brad Arthur. And he most likely will only be in the coaches box for a year and then hand it over to some bright spark if Burgess doesnt get his own gig with another team.
Yep, fair enough. He's going to need experienced assistants then, if this side is going to go decent.

My question is still, though....I hear you on the figurehead thing but that's not going to work for attracting talent. How are you going to assemble a strong NRL squad? We've seen the struggles of doing that without a strong coach, having to pay overs and have players relocate their lives.

Reckon that’s a bit harsh on the Tigers, they still have a fair way to go and like most other sides aren’t consistent, but 2 of those games you mentioned, they got absolutely drilled by the ref and were still right in the game at the end. They nearly came home over the top of top of the Cowboys away yesterday after spending 20mins a man down. When it was 13 on 13 they dominated them

And it looks to decide the game too. The Cows are scoring freely again with 13 on 12.

24-6...oh, and they can score against 13, just in case we didn't know. 28-6...

...32-6, nineteen mins left. 32-28, Cowboys. Final. Wests left their run too late and the two sin-bins cost them the game as NQ scored 22 points with 13 on 12.

Tigers fans should tell Luai to go. Not really but you know what I mean.
One of those Tigers tries reminded me of the old Warriors peak jungle ball days

Guess the salary cap will have a say in that. They have a good feeder club in the Bears so player pathways is key.

Fair, I guess my mind is stuck on the Eels loss where they all stuck up for Benji then got their arses handed to them by a side that was seen as odds on for the spoon

I am starting to have that feeling that Luai is one of those guys that looks like a leader with leaders around him but doesn't have the stuff when he's meant to be one of the main guys. It is called Adam Blair syndrome

Don’t think I can line up with you on Luai, I think the Tigers are a far better outfit with him there. He led Samoa to a very strong showing at the last World Cup, and had always kept Penrith ticking when Cleary was gone for extended periods. Could say now he has left they have fallen apart :p

It’s James Hooper, so potentially rubbish, but apparently Haas’ manager has told clubs to get their offers in for him as broncos aren’t a guarantee

A must win for Penrith here. I hope they don't as it will eliminate a danger side from the competition.

I'm now looking at things from a Warriors first premeirship viewpoint. We're tough enough to beat any side in the finals (if we get there) but it'd be an easier task to advance without Penrith.

C'mon Parra!

Penrith just don’t seem motivated this year, but sad for the greatest dynasty in 50 years

Interesting that Lomax playing on the wing, thought that was why he changed clubs…. He’s a great winger though
