NRL Rd 12 2025 - General Non-Warriors Thread

Article yesterday suggested Ciraldo is sick of the his attitude and can see the lack of discipline costing them games so has gone off him

They rate Hayward highly too so won’t be wanting to lose him so will create the 9 spot for him

Crazy narratives running around a side coming 1st. Brent Read saying Sexton was going to be dropped next week regardless of Galvin signing, and Mahoney asked for a release in the off season initially

Buzz makes interesting points that they’ve signed Thompson and Galvin on big coin while having Max King who is now origin on 400k and Preston who is on the fringes on 350k

Gus comes off poorly there. He's been caught out in lies, smoke and mirrors etc, and he wants to blame the media and then chastise Chammas for actually doing his job, and doing it well.

Gus is a hypocrite on so many levels. He weighs in on his podcast where he feels it's beneficial, and often critically, but woe be it that we say anything about the Dogs.

Galvin certainly is a special talent, not sure I’ve ever seen a guy with a handful of games under his belt bag his current coach, get his entire senior playing group offside, reportedly tell the Eels he was going there then backflip leaving them in a hole with their plans, and part of a large shifty charade in joining the dogs

I have always really liked Gould - but that was great tbh, Chammas stood his ground, and a key thing was said early - Gus said something like "no other CEO, football manager, recruitment manager comes on these panels every week to answer questions" and Chammas simply said, "that's your choice" ... Brilliant, Gus certainly likes to have his cake, eat it, and eat everyone else's... still a football savant, and from most accounts a decent fella, at least when you're in his club

Yea man... and I cant imagine there isnt at least some wariness amongst the Dogs playing group because of all that, particularly those who are close to some of the Tigers.

But Braith said last night that apparently it was Ciraldo - along with Vella - who drove the push to sign Galvin. If anyone knows how his players will react you'd think its the coach... so presumably he's comfortable and reckons he can manage it.

Tell you what though.... Rd 22, Tigers v Dogs at CommBank. That will be fun.

I liked the bit as well where Gus said to him “have you talked to him have you” and Chammas said “well apparently you haven’t either”

Yeah I thought Chammas held himself outstandingly well in the face of a bully. He's exactly right, Gus tried to play him off with that no other CEO rubbish when no other CEO etc gets paid handsomely and opts to be in panel shows.

Andrew Webster's (the journo not our coach) article about Gus in around March I think it was, was very interesting. Basically said he's a genius but you never know where you stand with him, and there is only loyalty and mateship when it suits him. If it'll serve him well to cut you off, you're gone. And he can even go off you without any reason you're aware of.

Tigers will bottle it. They bottled the game without Galvin v the Eels, and the game against the Bunnies after 64-0 in Melbourne. They are all talk and no action.
Oh yea.. unless this whole circus derails the Dogs and they implode, fully expect the Tigers to get spanked. That would just be the form book.

My interest lays more in how some of the Tigers players treat Galvin. I reckon there'll be some street justice handed out lol
