NRL Rd 19 2022 - General Non-Warriors Thread

While bunker has had a terrible weekend, the end to Cowboys Tigers game capped it off. Tigers robbed.
Were they? I watched the replay over and over, and that Tigers player knew exactly what he was doing in running a different line to impede Feldt (who admittedly milked it, and was never going to get to the ball).

I don't know if the ruling includes the possibility of getting to the ball, but to me there is no doubt that Tigers player f**ked up.

I have heard there is some other conjecture about the second on the clock, not being able to challenge after the siren etc.

Also no refs call on it, just play on. So no call really to challenge.

Either way the end to the Cowboys v Tigers game was an extraordinary thing!

Is that Penrith eight points clear at the top? Yep, how can they lose it from here? No chance. Those massive, ever-growing egos won't let them, surely?

6 rounds to go no one can catch them and they deserve to be able to rest players going into finals.
Lets hope some talent follows Webster.

Tigers talking legal challenge, and NRL have privately admitted they go it wrong, interesting

Todd Payten a bit quieter about the Top 4 getting all the calls this time round …

Whilst it was a monumental F-up, I can't see how there's any grounds for a legal challenge. How is that any different to a referee getting a call wrong in the first minute, or the 79th minute in any other game? News flash - it isn't. That's been sport as long as we've known it.

There's significantly more grounds than any normal error - a) it literally decided the outcome (this is important to establish, but the minor part of the argument), b) they failed to follow their own rule structure/process with regard to when a challenge can be made.

Essentially the Tigers wouldn't be appealing the error of the bunker's ruling itself, but the process error that allowed the bunker to get involved in the first place. It's a fine distinction, but it's a significant one.

Still.. this is just sabre rattling. They're not in the finals race, this season doesn't matter. I do hope they throw everything they can at the NRL though. Publicly. The NRL have defended the bunker's bullshit (and incredibly poor officiating standards) faaar too much, and for too long.

It's seems officials don't know when the bunker can can cant get involved.
Lodges high shot/dive vs Raiders that won us the game is the 1 time I think we benefited. But on the weekend Raiders 60sec captains challenge and interpretation of Jazz let go and Aitken strip was laughable. Between games I can understand but within it is incompetence or bias.

If nothing we learn for more important games, as they always say, what if that was the grandfinal?

Aloai, Sipley…

No cure for stupidity

Fa'afafine culture has been a feature of Samoan culture for as long as I can remember.

Lately though, I've noticed this very conservative anti-gay ideology become a 'feature' of their religion. I wonder where this influence is coming from and whether it's always been there?
