I really dont know what Souths need to do to be a force or even try to avoid the bottom of the table. Theyve tried getting a new coach, a new CEO, new players. What they should do is get rid of some of those players, bring in Dean Pay as an assistant, or even a forwards coach, cause theyre forwards are an embaressment. Moving to Telstra was a huge mistake, they said they'll get 10,000-20,000 if they win games, well news flash they havent won a game, and the ground looks terrible with 5,000-8,000. Its bad enough having just 10,000.
They aint gonna get the crowds unless they start winning, and actually play like a football team. I do feel sorry for their fans.
I dont know if buying big name players would help, cause it'll hard to get name players, they wouldnt want to go to Souths. They offered money to Orford and Anasta last year, they knocked it back. Harrison left. If they dont play like a team, and start winning games, how are they gonna expect the Orfords and Anastas to come to Souths.
The other problem with Souths is, there is no real leader. I know Peter Cusack is the captain but he aint showing it, they gave the vice captaincy to John Sutton whos done nothin all year. When they had Harrison last year, he was leading by example, making heaps of tackles, setting up tries, making good yards. Definately one player they miss this year.
They need to do something sooner rather than later, otherwise the NRL would have every reason to boot them out again.
