The Brisbane Broncos are once again the NRL’s most popular team with an estimated 1,531,000 supporters in 2004 (up 7,000 since 2003), according to the Roy Morgan Sports Monitor. This gives the Broncos nearly three times as many supporters as second placed Newcastle Knights (519,000).

Based on last year, but still bullsh!t anyway.

Smells like it.

They didn't explain why 90% of their fans never watch them play a game though.

I think it's just assuming that every person in Sydney goes for the Swans..which is stupid. The other factor they don't take into account is the fact that people say they go for a team, but mightnt really support them strongly if at all. For example, I go for Randwick in the Union, but I don't really watch them or follow it very closely and I suspect that is what has happened here with Storm fans.

I know a million people down here who'll spit when they hear the words 'Rugby League', but if somebody were to ask them who they supported, it would be the Storm every time.
Just take a look at the crowd figures though. A team with that much support has trouble cracking the 10,000 ppl average home crowd, in a one team town, yet have more supporters than the team who had the hightest average of any Sydney side.

Okayyyyyy...
