Never seen it before. it goes all the way back to the formation days & the jealous rivalry from DE La towards Caringbah I believe.

Whilst I am a fan of the Poon, I dont mind Lewie there. World class player and proven at many different positions.
My interest is more stretched when it comes to Vave, I would rather see D-Fi in there with a shot while Taga is out.

Cant wait for the A-Fi/D-Fi show.

That's true, but playing out of position in a pivotal position after being out of the game for 6 months is a big ask.

Too big of an ask IMO.

Bordering on stupid, so I doubt he'll play there.

I'm no fan of Graham at 5/8 but if we are going to play anyone out of position there, it must be him.

Kind of. Joined when he moved from NZ.

Boy this De La paranoia is laughable. I am no De La fan , but can't remember a De La first grader in years. Adam Dykes maybe the most recent. Don't tell me he didn't merit a spot. Oh the Limmo of course. No gun but first grade standard. See last year.

The crap about the board is tiresome. We had an election they won.

De La are the manly of the Cronulla Junior comp, soon to be the De La Junior comp as they have more teams in one age group than some clubs have in total.

That's just crap. So does Gymea, Engadine and Aquinas, they have equal amount if kids. it's just that parents in highly populated area's like to put their kids in well run clubs where they are looked after and have a sense of family.

Gymea yes. Aquinas to a lesser extent but a tier down and Engadine no.

Make no mistake, De La and Gymea have developed into super clubs and run the JRL. It is to the detriment of every other club because as these two clubs get bigger they will absorb more and more kids and clubs like Kurnell, St Joeys, Sutho and St Pats will be swept aside. There is already talk of Bosco, St Pats and Joeys joining up to form an ''all saints'' as they simply cannot compete at the moment. De La and Gymea will be victims of their own success and strength and it wont be long until Cronulla Junior League is forced to merge with another competition, likely Illawarra.

Are player numbers dropping overall? Soccer numbers are almost out of control in the shire, must be taking a toll on league numbers.

I've always believed that soccer in the Shire is much stronger than league. The numbers greatly outweigh those of league, always has. I love my footy and my sharks but the only time I ever laced on a boot in Rugby League was under 7s with Bosco. Always placed soccer since.

I'm still playing in the Over 45s comp now with North Sutherland Rockets. I have a four year old though who is just mesmerised by Rugby League. He loves the Sharks, loves playing with his football in the yard, lounge room, kitchen, whereever he can, knows all the players names and even mimics referees when they are checking with the video ref.

But my wife is not keen on him playing. Doesn't want him getting injured. Is worried he is going to bust him arm, legs, dislocate collarbones etc. But I have seen him in the backyard. Even at four, he knows how to run, he can step and swerve, loves to tackle and be tackled. He's been involved in Nursery soccer now on a Saturday morning but I think the day will come when he'll want to play league.

Sorry to get off topic guys!

the CSDJRL lost 500 kids from last year. 500.

It's hardly earth shattering to believe soccer is "bigger" than league. If you are taking player numbers, it's a fact.

With regards to your son, sign him up. Mini league is played under a safe play code and is a million miles away from the NRL that you see on TV. It's completely safe until the age of about 13.
