NRL Team of the Decade 2010-2019

In general for sure. But given Taumalolo didn't really arrive until late in the decade Parker probably edges out that particular period, IMO.
Parker retired in 2016, so played in 7 seasons of the decade.

Taumalolo debuted in 2010 so has played every season. And he's been a verifiable beast since at least 2013/14.

Lolo is already looking at being surpassed by bigger, faster blokes who punch out bigger minutes.
I respect your opinion but that's a pretty bold statement.

"Blokes" is plural; implying that Payne Haas isn't the only Lolo clone coming through. Who are the other middle forwards that look like surpassing him?

David Fifita is a young gun too but plays on the edge so can't be credited for "punching out bigger minutes".

And even Haas - whom I'm an enormous fan of and regularly call the future GoaT prop - will do well just to match Taumalolo's career.

I mean Lolo is the only Dally M winning running forward in my time. To achieve that when the spine players usually get the 3-2-1s is an incredible achievement and indicative of just how dominant he is.

He was also the key forward in the Cowboys Premiership win and then was crazy dominant in leading the Cowboys to another GF alongside Morgan. The Sharks-Eels-Roosters all got their shit pushed in by Lolo b2b2b in finals matches in Sydney during that run. It was epic dominance.

So I wouldn't be so quick so overlook just how freaking amazing he has been over a few years now.

He can also punch out big minutes quite comfortably btw; regularly playing 65+.

It sounds like I'm in love, I know, but I genuinely think that Lolo is already as great a middle forward as Lazarus and Brad Clyde and he'll be regarded as such in the fullness of time.

Late? He's played the entire decade!

He played for Tonga in 2013 and the Cowboys in 2014.

Sonny Bill WIlliams is in the f**king side for playing less than 50 club games ffs

Well said. Taumalolo is the worlds best forward right now.

Jack de Belin should be there (or at least in the 2nd team). Besides Taumalolo, he has been shitting on every other forward on that list since 2011.

It's clear the NRL has an agenda...

Reading some supporter forums on this subject have been a lesson in one eyed madness

(Insert player name who played for mental persons club) played one game in 2009. That's in the last 10 years and he is better than (whoever was selected)

FMD. They don't get the concept of a player over a decade do they?

I get what you’re saying, but the NRL selecting SBW when he only played 2 seasons in the decade has opened the door for the lunacy.

Timing of this was my only concern

1 - 2019 has not finished yet

2 - should have been announced on the Hall of Fame induction evening in 2020

Yep I can't really argue. I might just be a bit nostalgic for Parker & Gals. I'm definitely not hating on Lolo.

As good as Lazo and Clyde.. big call. I got a couple days off so might have to refresh my memories. I was a massive Clyde fan.

By "arrived late" I meant he didn't really hit the scene and impose himself till later in that decade.

SBW is not even in the discussion for mine. He's a part time RL player at best.

This is my angle. Like Val Holmes? Loved him, still will unless he plays against us lol but over that 10 year period he was a flash in the pan. A bunch of tries against minnows like Newcastle and Fiji doesn't do much for me.

Surprised no one has made a thread for this (or I have noticed) or are we going all John Howard and waiting till end of 2020? Anyways my team is based on top of form not consistency over the decade.
