I don't think its that bad

I rate it...don't underestimate their halves, a forward pack that would never take a step back, a couple of big centres and a champion fullback.

Souths will start favourites but it definitely won't be one way traffic.

thats a very good side, their back line is very big, and if the bunnies think they are going to go in and run the cleaners through them, they will be Easts 1000th victim

Terrible looking team.

Old and slow forward pack.
Their only hope in the forwards is Toupo re-discovers his form of a few years ago.

Myles will be shown up without the likes of SBW, Mason, Asotasi, O'Meley, Ryan, Matua backing him up. Will be nowhere near as effective as he was last year.

Only good thing for Easts is that Souths side looks just as old.

Roosters with that side will be closer to the bottom of the table then the top of it.

Roosters have announced their team:

http://www.smh.com.au/news/league/lewis-earns-roosters-halfback-crack/2007/03/11/1173548011049.html

Anthony Minichiello, Shaun Kenny-Dowall, Joel Monaghan, Iosia Soliola, Sam Perrett, Mitch Aubusson, Josh Lewis, Chris Beattie, Craig Wing, Danny Nutley, Anthony Tupou, Craig Fitzgibbon (capt), Braith Anasta. Interchange: Mickey Paea, Charlie Tonga, Nate Myles, Lopini Paea.

Looks like the Roosters are doing a few things right with that side.

They have shifted Anasta to lock, smart move, lets hope they keep him there. He suits the position alot more than five eigth. Also will all the talk from Rooster fans about all these young very good players coming through, we are actually going to see them get a shot. Lets hope that if they don't find their feet straight away, they get given enough time to do it. Like the Raiders this year, very much a team of the future ( well the backs anyway ).

The4 one thing I don't like about the side, is the aging forard pack. Being a Broncos fan that may sound hypocritical, but these guys aren't Webcke, Thorn, Carroll or Petero, they're poor mans versions. Signing Beattie and Nutley was stupid, they let Morley go for these two? Rooster fans must be still pulling their hair out over this one.

Around the rucks the Roosters are gonna get killed by teams like the Cowboys, Broncos, Bulldogs, Tigers, Titans and Storm. No wonder they are using 1 marker, they are trying to cover for very limited mobility around the ruck.

Yeah, I know.

But with a few no-names in that backline, the kid should be somewhere other than Fullback.

Unless those kids are guns and Foley's injured or had a bad off-season.

The Roosters have, for the most part, a great set of youngsters. This side (esp the forward pack) should at least be able to hold their own until the lower graders are ready to break through.

As far as i'm concerned, their biggest worry should be coaching.

I take your point but the kid's problem is that he's a specialist fullback...
