or maybe it was just a fantasy in your head all along lol?

“When asked if the ARLC would consider buying the mostly UK-based Super League, Abdo says: “We will work with them to promote the growth of the game, potentially we might look at NRL playing matches in the UK or something more formal.”

so basically what Ive said all along that they would have no interest in buying a stake in the comp. Glad we got there in the end lol
Maybe theyll listen to you and set up clubs in paris, manchester, newcastle and Birmingham instead :)

Both Manchester soccer clubs started as small community clubs. Salford alone has little upside for investors.
It’s half the population of Manchester

And doesn’t have two massive soccer clubs to compete with

Salford council have loaned the club loads of money and are giving them a sweet stadium deal where they keep the bar and match day takings

The club can trace its roots back to 1873 before the formation of the northern union or even the rugby football union

They need money. They’ve haven had it since the 1970s except for a few years under Marwan koucash

Getting a decent sized stadium that is actually in Manchester is also an issue

Old Trafford and man city would be awful given the crowds they get

English super league has taken games on the road to Manchester before (Wigan st Helen’s Leeds?) the crowds were ok nothing special

Lots of league teams in greater Manchester. If you can get fans from each you'd have a base as big as any in the superleague.

Wigan or Warrington ?

Oldham and Rochdale are tiny clubs and they can follow Salford if you look on a map Oldham is in between Manchester and Salford

St Helen’s tried once to be Liverpool st Helen’s it fell flat on its face

Those big cities don’t care about rugby of either code

Oldham, Hornets, Swinton, Salford & even throw in Leigh. A team representing that area under banner of Manchester should be goal. Right now individually those clubs aren't much of anything.

Crowds of around 5300

More than the giants and Wakefield

You cant judge English clubs against nrl standards the crowd average is 9.5k

Just remember Catalans dragons is a merger of three teams ..kinda
That’s true but they weren’t a super league club

If Salford got a decent investor they can get to break even and crowds of around 8k

Calling them Manchester and playing in Salford won’t attract anyone from Manchester and will alienate their existing fans

They need a good investor
