Some how I thinks that's the Super league plan
Super League are desperate for the NRL to buy it, but that wont happen until until Super League get ambitious and with Super League not wanting a club from London in it and against French clubs its not going to happen.
Super League is insular and lacks ambition.

Super league should give the nrl the rights to sell the super league games to foxsports and then split the money 50 50 with super league

they would get way more money out of foxsports than the rfl can

I said when the nrl is truly cashed up ie not now

around 30 percent of viewers on tv are from London and it produces a loads of juniors

Way more than the Melbourne storm do lol
Your hatred of the Storm makes their continued success all the more enjoyable

Super league has heaps of potential. It's kinda a case of being pulled in every direction that it stays in the same place. The NRL owning a portion won't change that. Slowly feels like it's starting to move in the same direction with img or whatever it's called but it is happening.
Big yanks on a chain won't move a big ship but over time a steady pull will.
At this point we've stopped the yanks.
Where that steady pull is at this point is away from the shore ( promotion and relegation)

NRL has only one interest here

Making sure England can play internationals

The SL War moved ESL games to be parallel to NRL games and killed off the Kangaroo / Lions tours

I would not be surprised to see ESL return to a northern winter competition

Have Europe TV pay more for NRL games

And create off season content for Foxtel, using the Kangaroo brand via tours to rebuild England RL

yeh of course why has no one thought of that before, just get some billionaires to pss away tens of millions running clubs in cities where no one cares. Good luck with that strategy lol

Its not like it hasnt been tried. London have been owned by News ltd, by Richard Branson, by two other multi-millionaires, and is still only the 24th strongest club in the British system.

Not much gambling money in uk, they aren't interested. Youre kidding yourself if you think NRL has any real genuine interest in international RL.

back to winter rugby? lol of course they will, just so NRL can run kangaroos tours that include some club games every decade or two. theres some real einsteins at play in this thread.

Abdo in today`s Weekend Australian :

"When asked if the ARLC would consider buying the mostly UK-based Super League, Abdo says: “We will work with them to promote the growth of the game, potentially we might look at NRL playing matches in the UK or something more formal.”"

So looks like buying Super League isn`t being considered presently, but certainly seem to recognise the potential value of having another professional competition on the other side of the world.

Looks like the arlc are backing away from this now and talking of maybe playing nrl games there

Seeing the demise of London and the way Catalan are being treated was probably a wake up call for the arl about the state of the English game
