What is it about the women’s game where they are consistently held up over the line? Must happen at least 3-4 times every Newcastle game I watch.

So Evah is facing 1-2 on the sidelines for a hair pull, yet Olivia Kernick committed a hip drop but only escapes with a fine? 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

They didn’t replay it on tv but it looked like the other girl started it and pulled her hair too. I might be wrong though.

I think the other girl did something in the tackle she objected to yeah but it was hard to see.

Either way a fine only for a hip drop is laughable but par for the course for the National Roosters League.

It’s honestly embarrassing how this competition is clearly set up for the Roosters.

The amount of leg ups they receive is sickening.

Star studded rosters, constant player appearances on panels, players getting off charges… not to mention their players are extremely unlikeable and fake.

It really is the Roosters league and the other 11 teams are just the supporting act.

We have won two of the last three titles! Jeffries looks to have finally got the girls to buy into his coaching. Jess is looking more ok with running the side every week. Thankfully John Strange does not give out jumpers to his mates like Hilder does.

There's no real rules about third parties etc in the NRLW like there is in the NRL, and clubs are allowed to assist the players in finding supplementary employment, so the Roosters & Broncos definitely do have a pronounced advantage in recruitment (it helps the Titans W team as well, I guess because their program doesn't have the baggage the men's team does).

It was an odd way to phrase it but a certain lack of substance, character and willingness to fight might actually explain why the Roosters and Broncos are yet to contest a grand final since the comp expanded and a semi final was added to the schedule. Literally every season in this era one or the other has been on the wrong side of a massive upset and those games have tended to look very similar, the underdog defends with a lot of resilience and intensity instead of merely laying down and taking it, and then that star-studded team which is used to a lot of easy wins is frustrated into a bunch of errors.

The narrative is that only two teams have a chance, but the last three grand finals have featured the Knights, Eels, Titans and Sharks. Much like men's footy, ultimately grit, determination & effort are great equalisers.

But apparently John Strange is the next big thing in coaching?

Higgins has turned the side around- they looked completely lost and the service from dummy half was atrocious in round 1 when she was suspended.
