Thought Wighton would be a starter but good to see him there in someway. Cotric is a gun and deserves a shot. Would’ve gone with Reynolds but anyway it’s the best we can name.

Only one I object to is Cleary but Reynolds getting injured was costly.

Ferguson showed on Thursday night why he does not deserve selection

Angus Crichton...guess that's what happens if you've played for both the chooks and rabbits. Huge question marks over the halves and bench. Qld look far more settled. We might be in trouble i think.

Chricton has been quite good on the edge recently and hasn’t done anything to get dropped. Disagree that the Maroons are far more settled. There has been a lot of debate around their team regarding halves and the dummy half.

Not sure why people are complaining about Crichton, guys has something close to 90% tackle efficiency.

As a Raiders fan how does the mental midget Wighton get into the game without an injury?
I dont like the guy, i think it's clear he's a massive f**kwit, but his form this year was been REALLY good. Cant doubt the quality of the play he's put on the park

as for how he gets into origin? He can play fullback, wing, centre, in the halves, and back row... Having that level of versatility is extremely valuable in a 3 game series. Stylistically, he's very similar to Luke Lewis in his peak (albeit Luke Lewis was a much higher quality player)

Might've gone Reynolds instead of Cleary and Jordan McLean instead of Crighton on the bench but aside from that I think it's the strongest team we could've assembled.
Just on Payne Haas, I know he's only played 10 games and a few weeks ago I said he's probably abit green but over the past month he's been arguably the form forward in the comp and pretty much banged the door down. The most appealing for about him for me is his motor, I don't think I've ever seen a young front rower play the big minutes he plays, the fact that he does it at his size is even more incredible.

That was poor. Though that was about his only poor play this year. He has been one of our best.

Still, he is getting on and it is a bit of a conservative selection. Obviously plenty of other contenders but many have been getting injured.

Overall, the team looks pretty good. Cleary is in poor form but they have decided to stick with him I guess, to give him a shot to grow to the level. Lord knows we gave Pearce enough chances.

Wighton has been very good this year and can cover all backline positions comfortably and pinch hit in the backrow. The thing I like with Wighton you're not guessing if he can cover a certain position as he's literally played an entire season in most of the backline positions
