Good team. JMoz is a place holder for Tommy T. Wighton is a place holder for Keary. It is unclear whether Cleary would have kept his spot had Reynolds and Pearce been available (yeah, yeah, I know, but they absolutely would have been considering him on form). I'd swap Crichton for another front rower, but that's a minor quibble.

Kearys not utility material

i'm not enamoured by the Crichton selection at all. He'll get big minutes once Frizzell is shifted into the middle. He has to fire on that right side with Cleary & Morris

QLD will be shaking in their boots at the prospect of Cleary, Morris and Crichton

top side, aside from morris, chrichton and cleary

I am myth pearce biggest hater, but honestly the merkin deserves another go. If moonface has a shocker, I think fittler will put him in.

Happy for GODtric, the merkin earned that spot.

NSW to 3 & 0 qld

I said to all that would listen:if you pick Crichton, Murray, and walker, we win. QLD that is.
I assume you haven't seen Murray play this year. Or ever.

He's one of the best forwards in the comp and would be first forward picked if he were a Maroon.

For those questioning the Payne Haas selection, this is his output in his last 7 matches;
Vs warriors: 64 mins, 18 hit ups for 185m, 36 tackles, 1 missed tackle

Vs roosters: 63 mins, 20 hit ups for 221m, 25 tackles, 2 missed tackles

Vs Manly: 61 mins, 20 hit ups for 202m, 32 tackles, 1 missed tackle

Vs Souths: 61 mins, 12 hit ups for 121m, 36 tackles, 0 missed tackles

Vs Cronulla: 63 mins, 11 hit ups for 150m, 31 tackles, 0 missed tackles

Vs Canberra: 80 mins, 18 hit ups for 170m, 36 tackles, 1 missed tackle

Vs Wests: 64 mins, 17 hit ups for 167m, 45 tackles, 2 missed tackles

plays big minutes, high work rate but still makes plenty of metres per run and doesn't miss many tackles
I don't see how anyone can question him. A 19 year old putting up those kind of numbers is ridiculous.

Last year, Freddy did a wonderful job of leaving his own mark on the Origin arena and blooding an entire generation of talent moving forward. The next move was always going to be frought with challenges as he's had to come to terms with building on what he started last year, or starting again this year.

Freddy has gone for a balanced approach, bringing in form players like Cotric, Wighton, Murray, Haas and C. Walker while showing faith in Cleary and Crichton. It's not exactly a side that screams white wash but with Tedesco, Mitchell and Cook in the side they certainly deserve to go in as favourites. A lot was made of Maloney's form and while he played well, I thought it was those three players (and JAC) who truly made the difference for NSW.
