Penrith vs Roosters reggies game on NSW Facebook page for anyone who wants to watch. Can't link it here.
I didn’t stay for the last 15, was a pretty tough game to watch played in really windy conditions. I don’t want to put anyone off watching it, but it wasn’t a great game and we didn’t play particularly well.

Given the standard of the NRL games on Sat the conditions played some part in it

It was blowing a gale so impacted the game for sure.

I don’t know whether you went and what your thoughts were of our performance but given how strong we were on paper I thought we weren’t that great.

Naden is leaving so really doesn’t matter how good he goes or otherwise I guess. When Jennings went of injured at half time May went to centre so probably not a good indication of how he went, given in the first 40 he was basically playing first receiver a lot of plays.

I didn’t really take much out of the game, Eusinhuth dI’d pretty much what he does in the top grade, solid, not much else really.

I really think Taylan May has an NRL future, he impresses me every time I see him. I think he is a far better prospect than Thomas Jenkins or Sunia Turuva. I’m not sure quite why they are playing Turuva in the centre’s he seems much more at home in the fullback role.

As I said previously I did leave early when the game was largely over with 15 to go, I thought J’Maine Hopgood was our best, he really does have a terrific work ethic And I think he has the ability to emulate Liam Martin going forward. Very similar in style and ability.

If we do need to call upon a back up half/five eight in the weeks ahead I think we should call upon Jaemon Salmon. He is one of those guys, who sadly in caught in the cross hairs between not quite NRL but better than NSW Cup. He did some really good things and given what we have seen recently May just be a better option than Tyrone.

I mentioned previously it’s probably worthy of watching the highlights reel if only to watch Brent Naden‘s attempt to chase down Brad Abbey from the intercept. He was never a chance, but boy did he have a fair crack and Abbey in the last ten had to do an in and away to evade Brents clutches. There been a lot said on here about Brent, mostly negative, but for mine watch this clip and make your own mind up I guess. Abbey takes the intercept on the fly, Brent has to stop, turn and chase 70 metres and caught him even if not able to stop the inevitable. It really says a lot about the kids character and I truly hope he his career bounces back at his new club.

He's fast because of those long legs.

I went. I thought both us and the Bears would of beaten both Warriors and Knights given what they dished up in NR.

Salmon should of been the 6 in the prior 2 games not sure of the plan B if Burton had to go off for HIA. Was a waste of a side in form not to use them more.

Turuva is a slow burn like many of the Fijians in the comp. prob be early 20's until he is ready.

May needs to learn to pass more but as a ready seems ready if needed.

Jenkins is the star of the side. He is like Chrichton in the fact he is playing left and right, wing and centre. Once he gets settled he will be a gun.

Jenkins has the physical attributes but I just don’t see anything special, I just see the mistakes, poor reads and frankly I don’t see NRL in him. I think Taylan May is a far better prospect.

I saw the game live. He looked better last year to me. Still hope he has a good career.
I wasn’t aware it was broadcast live.

If I was aware there was a live stream I would have stayed at home because it was miserable.

Not sure how you arrive at the conclusion he looked better last season given I was only pointing out one play.

It was an amazing play, the kid deserves credit. I would have thought anyone watching it live or on a highlight reel would have thought WOW. I must have missed something I guess.

No he's had some good individual moments and the intent on that play is good to see. NSWRL have had a few of our games. I chromecast them from Facebook on phone to TV.

I just thought it was an amazing play, nothing to do with what else he did during the game, or any other game, just that one play. It was brilliant, I thought it worthy of bringing it up.

Has anyone watched the highlights reel of the NSW Cup game.

For those who may have just wondering what the thoughts are around Brent Nadens attempt to run down Brad Abbey from the intercept.

The highlights reel on the main Panthers page don't really do his chase justice because you only see Naden come into the picture at the very end. At the game, he had stop, turn and chase which unfortunately is not shown in the highlights reel. Shame really, because it was an outstanding effort on his part.
