If we want to take it to those queenslanders we must have an eels dominated side

Dunno bout that back row, should be fine if you have Craig gower rotating through.

Based on the world cup, I think the Eels need to move Jarryd Hayne to right centre permanently, and stick William Hopoate on the right wing and allow them to develop into the most dangerous right hand pairing in the NRL.

Then we have:
Fullback: Josh Dugan or Brett Stewart
Left Wing: Brett Morris
Left Centre: Michael Jennings
Right Centre: Jarryd Hayne
Right Wing: William Hopoate

Select the halves from Todd Carney, Jarrod Mullen and Adam Reynolds. Suddenly we have enough points in the team to win a series.

Lol no.

Hayne will remain Eels fullback for some time. seriously what is point of having one good attacking side if your fullback is below average (assuming you move Justin Hunt or who to fullback?)

I heard there's this young guy coming down from Queensland named Will Hopoate who doesn't play too poorly at the back.

No, Hayne should stay at fullback, and he should he picked at fullback for NSW.

He's spent two years in QLD, Mal has already been in his head and he will be playing for QLD from now on.

Hayne would play fullback if we didn't have great options there and the versatility of Hayne himself. The question is would you prefer Brett Stewart or Josh Dugan to Jennings or Morris.

Hayne has the versatility to play anywhere, but without doubt he is most influential at FB.

The backs should look something like:

1. Hayne
2. Tupou
3. J.Morris
4. Ferguson
5. Hopoate
6. Mullen
7. Carney

Here I'm assuming Ferguson and Hopoate can and will return to the NRL successfully, otherwise I would bring in B. Morris and Jennings. I'm interested to see just who QLD will bring in to replace Hodges. Will it be Tate? I wasn't to impressed with Jennings and his defence against Hodges the whole series.

So influential his team has back to back spoons. He is a gun fullback, but he can kill it anywhere in our 1-5 just like Inglis. Right centre is an issue for us. He has 7 tries in 2 games at right centre for Australia. Use him there for NSW. Obviously Eels wont waste so much of their cap on a centre and winger pairing. I was just dreaming about what we could have for NSW.

They could be paired up for us anyway. But the 3 games wouldnt be anywhere near enough time to have them at their best.

I'd prefer:

1. Hayne
2. Taufua
3. Jennings
4. Morris
5. Morris

Do we have other options who'd do a great job at fullback? Yes, but it's just stupidity to leave a guy who is consistently one of our best sitting out on the f**king wing when he could do so much more damage from fullback. QLDers will be making the exact same argument about Inglis at fullback over Slater.

1. Hayne
2. B. Morris
3. Jennings
4. Ferguson (if he comes back in time)
5. Hopoate

is better than

1. Dugan
2. B. Morris
3. Jennings
4. Hayne
5. Hopoate

Although looking at both I really wouldn't mind, just think Hayne is too good to leave out of fullback.

Unless the Blues get some sort of killer instinct and stop throwing games away, a series win will remain as elusive as ever. No matter how awesome the backline will be next year.

The problem with moving Hayne to centre is that you lose his kick returns, he has to tackle more, he has to make more decisions in defence (which he is poor at), and in a non functioning backline (an issue in years gone by) you lose his playmaking ability. The only full game he played at centre in Origin he played well but it was against a busted up Hodges. He's the type of player you think about moving to centre in a stronger team like QLD or Australia but we're talking about NSW trying to win its first series in 8 years. We need him in his best position and one where he can be most influential and that's at fullback IMO.

But again the flip side is why have Hayne and Morris or Taufua when more damage can be done with Stewart and Hayne. Stewart is infinitely better than someone like Taufua on the back of the best backline in the NRL. And it is the best backline in most part due to Brett Stewart.

I dont think I need to point out to you just how dumb this statement is

I have no doubt that Hayne is the best fullback in nsw, however I think Stewart or Dugan would be more dangerous then josh Morris. So I'd pick Hayne at center. Picking him on the wing has always been geniused. It would be like qld picking inglis on the wing and Tate at center. Personally I'd go with:

1. Stewart (if not fit then Dugan)
2. B.morris
3. Jennings
4. Hayne
5. Hopoate
6. Maloney
7. Pearce
8. Fiftia
9. Farah
10. Grant
11. Bird
12. Lewis
13. Gallen

14. Cordner
15. Watmough
16. Merrin
17. Sutton

You mean like they did in 2006 and 2007

I know what you mean though. Doing it now, in 2014, would be silly

Aswell as B. Stewart went for us in 2012, I think I'd rather Dugan at fullback (if I didn't have Hayne at 1 already)

I think you gotta have duges and hayne on the field really.

1. Hayne
2. Duges
3. Hoppa
4. Jennings
5. Fergs

If Brett Stewart was somehow at his prime I'd have him at FB and Hayne in the centres in place of Jennings, not because Stewart is as good a fullback but having all those game breakers on the field at the same time would be intensely dangerous. I honestly think that matters more than position. Just a bunch of game winning, produce-something-from-nothing super freaks all playing at the same time.
It seems like it's gonna be an astonishingly good back five regardless, and I think people underestimate how often back 5s win games with freakish D and by scoring tries normal people wouldn't get close to scoring.

That said, your halves really are truly shit. Maloney and Piss surely have to go. I really think -
6. A Kelly
7. A Reynolds
Would be the way to go, but am open to carney at 6.

Forwards largely pick themselves. Piss Tamou off though and go Fifita and Grant as props.

8. Grant
9. Farah
10. Gallen
11. Bird
12. Lewis
13. Merrin

14. Watmough
15. Mannah
16. Tamou
17. Cordner
