17. Lewis

Woods was unlucky not to be in my 17 but like Snowden, I think he lacks that bit of acceleration to get over the advantage line in Origin. The pace of the game seems to be too quick for them even though they are quality NRL props.
This is a decent side besides Leilua. Rocks and diamonds specialist

And too many locks playing prop

My Team

1. Jarryd Hayne - In my opinion, this is not even a discussion. Hayne is NSW's BEST PLAYER. He must be picked in his favoured position rather than be wasted on the wing or in the centres. The only thing Dugan has over him is his powerful kick returns. Hayne is simply superior in every other facet of the game - play making, defence, defusing bombs, etc
2. Brett Morris - obvious selection, is in very good form for Saints, has plenty of experience and is probably the best pure winger in the NRL.
3. Michael Jennings (if unfit, Jamal Idris or BJ Leilua) - hopefully Jenko is fit because he is very strong in both attack and defense and is a true X-Factor. If he is unfit i think Idris and Leilua should fight it out for the spot.
4. Josh Morris - always does an excellent job of defending Inglis. Hasn't been in the best of form but i'm pretty sure he will lift for Origin.
5. Pat Richards - Maloney is out possibly for 4-6 weeks (not that i would of picked him anyway, he's in terrible form) and NSW will need a good goal kicker.
6. Josh Reynolds - is probably the form half for NSW at the moment, Carney is playing average and Mullen just got back from injury.
7. Mitchell Pearce - Daley has confirmed that he will be the halfback. I would prefer we pick Reynolds and Mullen in the halves but Daley will not do it.
8. Paul Gallen - obvious selection, he is the captain and always plays well in Origin.
9. Robbie Farah (if unfit, Nathan Peats) - another obvious selection, he was probably the form Hooker of the comp before he went down with injury. If he is unavailable, i would go with Peats as he has been in red hot form.
10. James Tamou - hasn't had the best start to the season but should be given another shot.
11. Boyd Cordner - has a big future in the Blues jersey if he can translate his Roosters performances to Origin performances.
12. Greg Bird - was born to play origin, has never played a bad game for the Blues and must be selected.
13. Trent Merrin - he is in awesome form for Saints, hopefully that will translate to Origin.

14. Luke Lewis - was probably NSW's best player in last years series. Hopefully he is back in time for Game 1.
15. Anthony Watmough - hasn't set the world on fire but he is an incumbent with lots of experience and has never let anyone down at Rep level
16. Andrew Fifita - definately good enough to start but i think he provides a great impact off the bench, was great in last years series
17. Aaron Woods - has been playing very well for the Tigers and deserves his spot. Unfortunately Daley has confirmed Kurt Gidley will be selected and i think it might cost Woods his spot.

You begin, with my team, and then proceed to name Laurie Daley's team. What's it to be, is it your team or what you think will be chosen?
Btw, Maloney's form in the last 2 weeks has been outstanding. Hardly in terrible form. That was then, this is now.

As a qld supporter that's fine by me.

Looks like Maloney and carney will both be out of contention through injury. Surely Mullen has to be 5/8. There is no other option

Forward pack is good so is the bench.
Hayne has to be fullback.

Michael Gordon is the forgotten man no? Definitely better than Richards and a great goal kicker. A simple philosophy of selecting the best players in their best positions.

Pick them both. Mullen has wonderful control in his game, while Reynolds has this uncanny knack of coming up with a big play. Almost certain that 40/20 attempt was successful.

No smart in my opinion given just how much Reynolds struggled tonight to come up with a big play

He is not composed enough for SOO and will get found out.

Hard to argue. Reynolds is simply not a big game player. I remember vividly how pathetic he was in last years semi against Newcastle. The dogs were embarrassed.
Reynolds was also dogshit during last years origin series.
