You really are geniused.

Where's the rest? So he let in one try that was due to his own defensive lap in an entire series and all of a sudden he's a bad defender? Where's the rest? That was the ONLY one this series that was his own fault for not sliding on defense. The only reason you mentioned that without thinking is because there isn't anymore

Keep picking him, Boyd will keep scoring, and it isn't the only try Darius scored. Not to mention it was Hopoate's drop ball that handed QLD their first try....

Fair dikum useless player.

Next you will be telling me Boyd Plodner and Jackson are Origin quality

Are you a moron or a coward?

Here I was thinking you're a reasonable poster. First you attack me over Hoppa's attacking abilities even though I never believed he offered any and when I asked you to point to to one post where I did, you completely ignored.

Then you go after his defense. which I said he had, you offered to show me how many tries he let in this series, when I took you up on your offer all you showed was one. Then when I further pushed you on it you decide to to ignore my points and talk about something else! The argument was about his defense! Do you lack the intellectual capabilities to stick to the subject matter or are you just a coward who doesn't want to admit he's wrong?

His defence is just as bad on the wing. Terrible, and letting your opposite score more than 1 try is poor, that is just the way it is. Was a ridiculous selection, and so typical of NSW. Pick the guy that so called 'can defend' despite not even doing that well. At least Tupou can jump. If you don't want Johnson, fine, just don't pick a centre on the wing, it won't work normally.

You pick out of position players you will lose. You have a centre on the wing, a halfback at 5/8, Cordner and Jackson near the side (despite Frizzell/Sims, etc being more dynamic).

NSW picked a side 'to not lose'. You don't win many Origins that way, especially against an elite backline. NSW were lucky that GI played like a drunk in game 1, and yet despite that NSW still couldn't win. If anything game 3 might force Daley to pick a more attacking side. You try to defend, you will lose.

I agree about your point about Hopoate being sh*t but;

You had a centre on the wing last night, a halfback at 5/8 so that completely disproves that theory. Cordner is a great wide running backrower at club level (JUST at club level) so the only thing you're right about is Jackson being placed on the edges.

According to who?

Why are you talking about players playing out of position!?!?!??!?!?!? We're talking about Hoppa's defense FFS!

Show me these tries that he let in or stfu and admit you're wrong.

Dugan has to be there somewhere (maybe 5/8?) and Hayne might be back.

Dugan at 5/8? That'll do me.

Dugan is a fine ball runner but not any sort of ball player. Even at centre his winger is sure to catch cold.

Pick a team with points in them and a potential long term future:

1. Tedesco
2. B Morris
3. Jennings
4. Dugan
5. Ferguson
6. Austin
7. Reynolds
8. Woods
9. Peats / Rein
10. Tamou
11. Cartwright
12. Frizzell
13. Merrin

14. Fifita
15. Klemmer
16. Sims
17. Moylan .

I dont mind this side but I think it will be better to move to this over the next few years.

Id go Dugan, Morris, Jennings, Morris, Ferguson, Moylan, Reynolds, Woods, Farah, Tamou, Cartwright, Bird/Hoffman, Merrin, Austin, Klemmer, Fifita, Frizell

Obviously there is something wrong with the current crop, so changes have to be made. People saying we shouldn't go crazy with the changes, well why not? It can't get any worse then this. There is actually 3 cases of crazy changes having and immediate effect

1995- Queensland are on the back of 3 consecutive losses, super league obviously effects both sides, but effects qld more. With a bunch of players on debut qld manage a clean sweep.

2001- after losing game 3, 56-16 ( the biggest loss before last night) Queensland select 10 players on debut, go on to win the series

2006- after 3 series losses in a row, QLD pick 9 players on debut, many of these players form a back bone for 8 series win

A Queenslander's take on next year's NSW team. Without two stand-out halves, I think you need the additional playmaker at the back - hence Moylan. I also think you need to get back to basics in the back row and pick someone like Fenson who will tackle his heart out.

1. Moylan
2. Dugan
3. Josh Morris
4. Jennings
5. Roberts
6. Austin
7. Wallace
8. Woods
9. Farah
10. Tamou
11. Frizzell
12. Merrin
13. Fenson

14. Klemmer
15. Fifita
16. Cartwright
17. Josh Reynolds

Wighton would be a better option then Moylan.

doesn't matter who we pick, we wont beat Queensland for another 3-4 years at least. we talk about QLD being old but they still have a few more years at the top. Plus our two best players (Gallen and Farah) are getting on and we have no one to really replace that class with.

the losing hasn't stopped.

Gallen retiring will be the best thing ever for NSW.

Compare his appearance on the Footy Show tonight with every interview of Queensland players. All top Qld players talked about TEAM and playing for each other.

Gallen - it's all about GALLEN.

Rugby league has always been a team game and the old cliché is true - a good team will beat a team of champions. Queensland just happens to be a great team of champions.

well the footy show asked questions about gallen more so than the team so he ended up talking more about himself. not much he could do about it to be fair and objective.

in theory I agree, him retiring will be great for NSW and even the sharks, but practically who do we replace him with? Unless Merrin starts to pull his finger out there aren't too many people knocking on his door to replace him.

I agree with your last paragraph and that's why Queensland will continue to win more series than not for atleast the next 3-4 years, if not all of them. Thurston, Cronk, Inglis and Smith are still playing their best footy and will for a few more years.
