I wouldn't pick Ferguson at centre, imo he's a bit overrated by selectors. But he tends to do the job well enough.

My backline right now is

1 Tedesco
2 Dugan
3 Bird
4 Hayne
5 Ferguson

But we have a lot of options. Fair few of the centres i list above can play wing. As well as blokes like Tommy Trbo. Pity Josh Mansauce is out.

having 2 big guys who can make metres and offload is a rare luxury and we need to take advantage of it

I rate Dugan, but he is a fullback. (Maybe a centre. I'm still not convinced).

He is definitely not a winger. If you want a great example of why, watch the dragons vs Melbourne game from round 1 last year where he was caught out defending on the wing.

He's not the only reason we've lost but he's a massive part of it. He's been picked 15 times and is yet to have a good performance, his decision making and kicking have been deplorable. He's had way too many chances and doesn't deserve any more.

There is a tonne of evidence to show that Pearce is not up to Origin standard though

BTW, if you want to get silly I could easily argue that a change in halves did have that effect in 2014

Jack bird came off the bench in game 2 and in 25 mins at 5/8 was the only guy who looked like doing absolutely anything in attack in 160mins of origin.

Forgot what game it was but I remember he came on and his first touch of the ball he nearly scored in what could've won nsw the game

Bloke is a freak and made for origin, just dunno what's his best position lol

Still remember him playing all of the gf with basically a dislocated elbow also and imo was in the top 3 players on the field.
