I photograph some of the games & was at the Manly vs Balmain game. Moses was really in a league of his own that night, fantastic game.
As he fills into his body i'm sure his tackling will become more effective. Of the games i've seen, he certainly doesn't try to shirk his defensive responsibilities.
Sorry guys but I know what I seen no excuses.

I know you Balmain parents/supporters think we should pick the Balmain SG Ball team but you need to understand there are lots of good players around and they all can't get picked. Selesi didn't even make CHS because everyone knows his hands let him down and his discipline is poor.

The fullback got picked because at this point in time the selectors judged him as the best player in that position. If this is right or wrong it is opinion only. Scorcher, I've seen your son play and his defence needs to improve. I've seen 2 players run through him in his last few games. Against Townsville when the centre scored off the scrum and against John Falou in the NSWCCC trial. These are good players and they would run through most guys but when you have 17 of them it is tough.

Take the tip stop worrying about other players and worry about your own game. You can't control selections or other players ability and form. You can help your son work hard and achieve his goals. Concentrate on that otherwise you may regret this window of opportunity.

With respect, if you consider at least 7 of the QLD team were picked from the Raiders and Townsville Stingrays teams, both comfortably defeated by Balmain in the finals, supporters have every right to question the selection process.

I have not read posts from Balmain parents or supporters expecting the Balmain team to have been picked.

Further, what do you think of James Tedesco not being able to earn NSW under age selection but less than a year later is considered good enough to debut in the NRL and make the top 25 at the Tigers? In comparison, where is the player picked from Cronulla ahead of him? Do I hear the word politics?

I don't think the hooker was that bad, we were up 18-6 at half time. Poor line defence in the 2nd half and mistakes in our own half gifted them the game, the fill in fullback dropped a bomb and just wasn't there in defence.

Tyrone Phillips should have been full back, day light would have been second ,he is a class above the others in that age group

The tackle he missed for the try the inside player just didn't get there. If you are able to see Balmain's game against Manly where Fabian Goodal ran at him all game you would change your opinion. Had they picked the right players QLD would have scored 2 less tries. Chad McGill would have done much better than the poor defenders selected along with Solesi Funaki.[/QUOTE well luckilly enough for the cane toads Fabian Goodall didnt play for them , obviously these boys where a bit better than him , and yes Balmain did win the comp ,but they where lucky to beat a Penrith team with several key players out or injured and a lop sided penalty count and a couple of weeks previous to the GF they were smashed by the Raiders , so maybe this was taken in to account , and also your 20s arent travelling so atm so why no call ups , every other clubs are using there better ball players now, why no one from your side can get a start is also politics I guess.

Balmain were lucky to beat Manly, lucky to beat Penrith, lucky to beat Souths, lucky to beat Canberra and lucky to beat Townsville. Wests Tigers 20's were near the top of the table 2 weeks ago and FYI the 20's coach actually wanted some of the players before SG started but unlike other clubs the Tigers are prepared to be patient with their young talent and aren't as desperate as some. Balmain also had key players out and also had injured players playing throughout the final series. You and others just need to get over your jealousy of how well the Balmain Tigers did this year.

Like that would happen, the decision was made by a Senior Wests Tigers Official.

A lot of the boys are still involved in the School Boys Cup so you won't see anyone up there for a few weeks unless injuries require it. Like I said the club doesn't rush kids and the NYC have been travelling pretty good apart from the last 2 weeks.
