Apparently the teams will now be named next Wednesday (obviously after the CHS trials at Toronto).

Thanks for that.

Aren't Ben Jones and Jake Friend Queenslanders??? Ben Jones even represented Qld in Under-17s Origin last year.

It looks like there are three Under-16s in the match, Matthew Wright from Penrith, Nathan Massey from Canterbury and Dominic Walsh from Souths.

Does anyone know if the selectors pick the PROBABLES team as what they think is the strongest side or do they try to keep both teams relatively even?

Because there are a few players who i think would be certainties for NSW U-17s in the Possibles team?
Lachlan Coote was awarded the best player in the SG Ball competition.
Kieran Foran is the only player amongst those listed to be playing Jersey Flegg.
Matthew Mundine was the best player in the Arrive Alive Cup final last year.

Also Sterling Seijka made the Probables, yet he wasn't good enough to make Penrith's SG ball team this year. (He played HM for Panthers last year).

Ben Tupou picked for his name? He is a benchie for the Knights.
Ben Tupou started more matches in the front row than on the bench. TJ Fonuti and Everett Vaurasi are also mainly bench players in SG Ball, and i don't know anything about the CRL props. Tom Hancock from Cronulla may be a chance to make the side but i haven't seen him play.

Do you not rate Ben Tupou?

He is the biggest of the Tupou brothers - and looks pretty fit - but he doesn't show any sign of having the same strength and workrate of Jon or Anthony yet. Having said that - Anthony was 110kg and fat at the same age and had huge strength but was only good for 10 or 15 minutes.
I have high hopes for the big boy, but he hasn't shown a thing yet.

If anyone is going to the NSW Under-17s trial tomorrow it would be good to get some feedback on players.

I want to go but i'm not sure if i will be able to make it.

Sama Sauvao has been on the Wests Flegg bench for the last couple of weeks, but I'm not sure if he got a run or not. I just hope he gets an opportunity to show the selectors what he can do.
The problem with these trials is not a lot of ball gets out wide.
Perhaps it would make more sense to pick U/18s and U/20s State sides that way the selectors can pick the sides from the week to week games and see the boys playing at their own age level.
