NYC rubbish

If anyone still thinks 20s players are capable of playing FG - please watch the first 12 seconds of the Knights Dogs game. ESPECIALLY forwards, and especially polynesian forwards.

Getting rid of reserve grade was a huge mistake. If they want to persist with this farce, they could allow up to 4 overage players per team. This would provide mentorring etc for the youngsters and allow clubs to keep hold of 4 fringe 1st grade players.

So NYC players are completely incapable of playing NRL football? So none of the following players are NRL standard:
Josh Dugan
Jarrod Croker
Daniel Vidot
Wade Graham
Lachlan Coote
Aiden Toleman
Kieran Foran
Jarrod Warea-Hargreaves
Daniel Mortimer

All have been called up from NYC to NRL football, and done very well. But hey, they're all rubbish I guess. There's probably plenty more, that was just 30 seconds of brainstorming, but I see a premiership winner and several players who made the kiwi squad last year.

Why forwards are you talking about by the way. All of the Knights forwards are well over 20, their youngest starting forward is Corey Paterson who was born in 1987, too old to ever have played in the under 20s.

In fact, unless I've missed someone, every single player in a Knights jersey for tonights game would have been too old for the first Toyota Cup season.

I feel for the blokes who are playing in state cup, barely getting selected for first grade, not getting any exposure, and a much more exciting game then this NYC rubbish

None of those guys have shown any of the consistency required in first grade. In fact, all of the blokes that play regularly are key factors in their teams sucking for 90% of the season.

Take for example Mortimer. Scored a couple of trys when his team was pumping other sides. Gets 250k on hype. Plays the Dragons, team relies on him... King Tigerman has similar effect on game.

Warea-Hargreaves is the only one worth feeding for the next few years - unless your team is already a top side looking for a loose cannon.

Not questioning any of their talent. Experience and know-how needs to be developed. Good example in this game. Locke scores a nice try, but stitches up Hohaia by chucking him a hospital ball to get smashed into the in-goal.

90% of those players play for teams who will miss the 8, because they can't get any consistency.

I tend to agree, however I always think there is a few exceptions. Not sure if Lui is one of them though.

I haven't seen much of Lazarus but from what I'm told he is a much better prospect that Lui? He is f**king tiny though and I suspect would get absolutely belted in FG.

Toovey and Langer did alright - size is not everything

And played the year before he played NYC in State Cup.

As did Ayshford and Moltzen.

The only ones who have seemed to really make the step are those who played the reserve grade comp
